Default Where's your go-to place for coffee ?

While checking put a recent poll http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0...&title=9_Miami , I noticed Miami made the cut and landed with the nine spot.

It didn't suprise me, especially as I find myself having the urge for Java when I'm in town. It's a rare occasion I drink the stuff. Must be the sea breeze - I don't know why ! The wife, who is from Colombia maintains the same pattern.

My Miami routine includes walking across the rotunda to Islander Marketplace, http://islandermarketplace.com/pastries.html , to grab a cup, a pastry and a paper. On Sunday's I'll drive the few miles to Versallies or Don Pan for the same.

Where's the best place to get your cup poured ?

    Sergio's.

Next time you're in town, bring the wife and kid and let's meet up for coffee.

    We'll do.

The Mrs. is there now. I'll probably make a quickie trip next week.

David's is a good suggestion for coffee. Loved their bread compared to that other Cuban place. Forgot the name. On 7th and Collins.

In Miami-The best cappuccino is made where I used to work- The Pelican cafe. The hotel/restaurant is owned by Diesel and they use Italian espresso. Totally delicious and perfectly made. Lots of people go for the Italian breakfast of cappuccino and a croissant. If you order regular American coffee, the bartender laughs..their regular coffee is nothing special. The best regular coffee is Starbucks in SoFi.

I love coffee and just discovered a new favorite. I was at the Nordstrom cafe and the house coffee they use is delicious! I had it iced and they cold brew it..it was so nutty and chocolaty tasting I thought the girl gave me a cafe mocha by mistake..but she said it's basically Starbucks without the bitter-ness. They go on sale for Christmas and I'm stocking up!

Remembered that advise about the Pelican from awhile ago. The last time I actually stayed at the beach, The Pelican was power washing their sidewalk and wasn't open yet. I'm an early bird.

    Next time......
