    Default Best Coffee at Home

Since we were on the topic of best coffee in Miami, I was curious, how do most of the coffee lovers out there make your coffee at home? You can pretty much buy ground coffee or coffee beans from anywhere in the world but do you find that you have a particular type of coffee maker or coffee making process that makes it taste great?

I used to do the french press, but it's a pain because I never seem to grind it to the perfect consistency. I'm going to get the coffee I like from the Nordstrom cafe and it comes in a bag, pre-ground "for drip makers". I know that's the standard that most people use. Any brand or type that you think is worth getting since I'm in the market for one?

Cafe Caribe, Bustelo, and El-Aguila (i vary it among all those little 'brick' packages of espresso you can get everywhere here); made at home in an espresso machine...... these locally available coffees have totally replaced Jamaican Blue Mtn and Kona for me - i find them to be a much richer, more delicious flavor, AND they are SO inexpensive. i bought an espresso machine, and make my own mocha's at home, with sweet milk and a little Ibarra mexican chocolate. soooooooooooooooo delicious!

Bunn coffeemakers, in my opinion, are the best home coffeemakers. They brew in 3 minutes so your coffee is NEVER bitter and you won't have to wait for your coffee to get done. They don't require special filters and are fairly inexpensive (around $100). I've had mine for about 2 yrs and it works just as well as when I bought it.

I was surprised to see that they sell La Llave and Cafe Bustelo in the supermarkets out here in CA! I like Cafe Bustelo a lot. It's very strong! We just have a regular drip coffee maker, but since Cafe Bustelo is very finely ground, it makes it stronger, like espresso.

yeh it's everywhere - i discovered it a couple years ago up north, along with Cafe Caribe, El-Aguila, and several similar ones, before i ever moved down here. and that extra-strong blend is exactly what i love about it too

Leave it to an Irish Cuban to come up with a really tasty coffee drink!
