Hot Dog with a healthy spread of apple sauce, whip cream and fruit toppings.

Had enough room after my regular " Colombian" and decided " why not ? "

This is The Edgar Special at La Perrada de Edgar in North Shore

I'd try it again, but not before I try other wild combinations.

Wow. There are so many reasons I would not eat that. It reminds me of the Friends Thanksgiving Trifle that Rachel makes...

LOL - that's the one that Anthony Bourdain said "this shouldn't be good.... but it IS!" haha.

(and p.s. i'm thinkin' you meant 'north beach', yes?)

Your right. 6900 block of Collins.

Edgar is certainly milking that visit. He has a monitor on the counter that continously runs his segment on the Lay Over. That, along with other print medium posted on the walls.

hahaha, well of course he is - it just happened, I'd expect him to be nothing less than proud.

big up Edgar! - I'd do the same thing if Anthony Bourdain gave me a great review!

No way in Hell. I can't remember what my response to your text message about that was, but I'm sure it was even more obscene.

No thank you! I coudn't eat that. I don't like whipped cream. I eat hot dogs at BBQ's only and I like sauerkraut and ketchup and mustard- that's it! But I'm glad you enjoyed! What kind of Colombian soda is that?

I believe the soda ( gaeosa ) is caterogized in the champaign grouping. It might be for some an aquired taste, but it's actually OK and I usually don't drink soda.

As far as the dogs, the taste of the meat was distintcly American. The menu is expansive. Even Matt can order a kosher dog from the menu.

Colombians have taken great liberties with their hot dogs. When I first visited that country, it was pretty much anti-american. The Colombian hot dog was perhaps a way of protest. Like you, I prefer mustard, kraut and onions.

When I was courting my wife many years ago, a few visits to Colombia were required. On my first visit, we hit a street vendor at 3AM and had my first Colombian dog. It was the best I ever had. The typical Colombian dog, is simply a ketchup and mayonnaise mix, apple or sweet sauce and crushed potato chips on top.

The dogs at Edgar were good, and he seemed like a cool guy. I took my mother and Chunche... thus we ate outside. He was keen enough to pick up my mother's accent from the country on the other side of ther Darien Gap and had a nice exchange.

I have yet to try these dogs at La Moon. It was my intention to try it after the Lakers/Heat game last Thursday. Parking was impossible, which is a fact of life around Brickell. We settled instead for La Sandwicherie, nearly across the street and with parking. Let me tell you... it was my 1st time there and my chicken sandwich rocked.

That doesn't look appetizing to me at all.
