Default Club Deuce owner Mac Klein dies

Only had the pleasure to chit-chat with him one years ago.

He passed away yesterday at 101 years young. Along with that, likely the most expansive living memory of Miami Beach ... He's seen it all.

    RIP

There really was a Mac? I only went there once, it was way too dive bar for me. 101 though is a good old age, Miami must have been kind to him.

The secret to life must be breathing second hand smoke.

Club Deuce is nothing spectacular. My experience was OK. I'll never have the chance to compare it to Ted's. There are many folk out there, like myself that prefers a cold refreshment at night over a Chinese or Mulata girl gyrating their body at Clevelander platform.

I'm sure people save up for that and Instagram or Periscope their friends they "made it."

I'm researching my revisit to Amelia Island later this month. I identified a dive bar that claims it's Florida's oldest bar. Want the table Walter Cronkite sulked over for two weeks after his retirement.

Yeah that is Florida's oldest bar. We did a story on it a couple years ago. It's in Fernandina Beach, right?

It's on the Fernandina side, yes. Were staying on the harbor side but will try out the old Palace Saloon and that burger joint that everyone raves about. Not sure if you tried it. It's housed in an old gas station structure.
