Smith & Wollensky is right next to Government Cut, great view!! Prime 112 and De Vito's seem to be pretty good, but others might see it differently.

Hi! Welocme to the Forums!
My pick is Gotham Steak at The Fountainblu Hotel. It's not techically South Beach, but it feels like it. It's a great experience. The food is great..parmesan truffle fries, filet, some seafood dishes..and great cosmos. The decor is trendy and upscale, and they have live music Sat nights (maybe Friday too) that makes it romantic. It's fun to sit downstairs and watch the kitchen in action. And everyone eating there is pretty dressed up, so it's a fun atmosphere.
Barton G at the former Versace Mansion should be super fancy, but I have no idea if it's open yet.
Do you have a budget for this dinner?

Thanks! I was searching online and came about Gotham Steak, it looks amazing and with your feedback on it i am definately going to make reservations! My budget is about $250, I looked at their menu and their entree's are around 80 a plate, I want to buy a bottle of wine so if I exceed my budget, oh well....once in awhile doesn't hurt to treat yourself and a loved one to a nice fancy dinner! ;-)
Once again thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you!
Hi tcallejas ... don't forget to factor in valet parking costs at the Fountainbleu if budget is an issue. It's $20 first four hours. There is a lot that's walking distance ($10 flat rate after 6pm evenings & weekends) but you probably don't want to park there if you want to make it super special. There is otherwise no metered parking immediately around the hotel.
Enjoy your dinner and please let us know how it goes!

I think the average entree is maybe $50. What I usually do at dinner to save money is order the cheapest bottle of wine. No one even notices, I certainly can't tell the difference, and then when the bill comes everyone's pleasantly surprised.

Here is the menu for Gotham Steak, via Thrillist: http://www.thrillist.com/pics/34636popup.jpg It is from 2008 but it should give you an idea.
If you both order a soup/salad, two entrees and two sides plus a bottle of wine (I would imagine the cheapest is well over $30) plus tip and parking you will probably go over $250 easily.
