Suzy! I'm so excited! thanks for that info on David's Cafe. Open 24 hrs. Great reviews on the food and service and the mojitos.
That'll be way more fun than french fries & burgers at 4am. More like Miami than NY.

Suzy, don't you have some more David's Cafe news to share?

    Suzy,
Is there anywhere in South Beach that we can get Fritas? My husband was talking about them again.

I like Puerto Sagua. I can also recommend Versailles in Calle Ocho. I agree with Suzy the best Cuban food is always cooked at home.

But for those of us who don't have a Cuban grannie there a great little cafe on 6th and Meridian called Cafe Las Olas. It's always packed with local workers and families, and serves the most delicious fresh chicken or fish with scrumptious plantain, rice and peas to take out or eat in, and all for no more than $6.

There's also an excellent little Cuban supermarket further down the street from the cafe, which has delicious take outs, including breakfasts for $2.50, and stocks all the ingredients you will need to rustle up a Cuban meal at home.
