Best Breakfast in Miami
What do you think is the best breakfast restaurant in Miami?
Like I've finally found great Asian and Mexican after a decade of looking here. But insofar as breakfast past the brunch at Nikki Beach I haven't found anything that's REALLY good.
If anyone has been to Orange in Chicago, I'm thinking of a place like that. With inventive breakfast cuisine and imported coffees and stuff. That doesn't depend wholly on omelets and fatty meats. Total yuppie place. But News Cafe/Van Dyke's menu just isn't getting it done for me.

Brunch at The Biltmore, but that's not an affordable everyday type of thing. However, the raw bar alone is worth way more than the cost of the brunch. That and flowing champagne is totally worth it when you want to splurge.
Have you tried Balan's?

Too bad Cracker Barrel doesn't have a Miami location.
I go at least once a week for breakfast only.

Cracker Barrel is way down near Florida City.

The Islander on Brickell Key has some interesting breakfast choices, especially if you're on the run.

News Cafe isn't where I'd think to go. I like Van Dykes but now its coming into the fun months of weather I don't want to sweat my way through breakfast.
Try Olivers on 9th and West. I think it may have what you're looking for.

The 11th Street Diner can be okay, depending what you get. I liked their French Toast, but their "home fries" sucked.

I like Front Porch for breakfast, it's your typical breakfast choices but higher quality ingredients than most places. It's not amazing but it's fine for a casual breakfast.
I think you may like brunch at Ice Box Cafe, right off Lincoln. It's fun to go with 2 people and share..I like the
berry pancakes, the eggs benedict with crab cakes, and they do a really healthy option of egg whites and fruit. Yummy! I think to go a step above Ice Box you need to do the Mondrian Brunch which is $$$$.

Thanks to all of you!
This wasn't so much a brunch question, though. I'm good with Nikki for that. And yeah, I like Cracker Barrel and all, but if you're looking for a good, light, inventive breakfast that place is an Epic Fail.
I'll look into Oliver's or Ice Box. Not really looking for an "on-the-go" spot either, where you stand in line and order and eat at a little wire table with self-service coffee. Like a legit restaurant. Any other suggestions?

I like Deli Lane in South Miami, especially when the weather is nice to sit outdoors.
And you know you can get breakfast at Fox's any time it's open, right? LOL

My favorite breakfast on the beach is at the take-away section in Joe's Stone Crabs. They serve breakfast until about 10:30 AM in season only, i.e. they are closed now until the end of October. The menu is limited, you can see it on their web site, but reasonably priced and much better than the competition.

Ooh Maria, breakfast anytime. Mmm. That's why I love Big Pink. A cooked breakfast is really good after a night out at 4am, I don't wanna wait till the next day!

That and you eat free....
Yeah, Deli Lane is a good spot, I hadn't thought of that. Is the one on Brickell still open? And breakfast at Fox's? I mean, sure, I guess, though I'm not sure that's how I want to START my day.
What kinda stuff does Joes Take Away serve? I remember I went there for luch a while back and really liked it. Much more so than the main restaurant, actually.

Second Page...
Of this attachment has the breakfast menu. It does pay to call ahead as it will be ready for you.
Alas, the take away is closed until season begins again!

The 11th Street Diner was my favorite South Beach breakfast spot when I felt like a typical American meal. However, if I was feeling exotic, I'd inevitably end up at the Fernandez Fruit Market on Washington -- great prices, good food, and all those tasty, fresh-squeezed juices!

Fox's isn't open for breakfast. I meant that you can have breakfast stuff even when they're closing.
