Default Some Advice about a Time Share Company named TLA Travel & Leisure Alliance

First off, I love this site.
Anyway last July (2011) it was me and my wife's first trip to South Beach Miami, and we loved it. While we were there a man approached us and told us about a Time Share opportunity called TLA ( Travel & Leisure Alliance ) . We walked with him to the Lords Hotel on Collins Ave. He told us that we'd receive dinner/Lunch vouchers for the restaurant within The Lords Hotel & The Carlyle , if we sat through a 90 Min. Seminar . We did that and looked over what they had to offer and it seemed wonderful , we also received the food vouchers . We also gave them a down payment of $150 . I'm just curious to know if they're legit or not ? When i goggle them only their website comes up & trademark info, but that's all .
Has anyone ever heard of them ?

Thank you for the kind words about 411

I do not know the company you mentioned but it does not mean it is not legit. Have you contacted them by phone? Did you give them $150 for your next vacation stay?

Everything looks and sounds wonderfull during those presentations. The salespersons are known to lie through their teeth. The picture they paint, likely can't be produced in writing. Anything they promise, you'll want it referred to in a contract ... and those contracts are not always read because of the high pressure.

My advise if you eventually purchase, is to take notes or record the sales pitch. You should have a recission period to back out. Take that alloted time to go over everything. If it smells... toss it back.

Note these are not investments. It's like driving a new car off the lot. You'll never sell it at your purchase price. Bet you can find something nicely marked down in the re-sale market. Likely by someone trying to rid himself of a headache.

Just curious ... what you getting for $150.00 ?

It's a money pit,do not sign anything... Remember when you go on a trip ,especially in a place like Miami,or maybe even Orlando, you go there to experience what the city has to offer ; not to stay inside a resort hotel all day..

They also lie about equity and resale to families leaving them with many burdens like maintenance payments and many more fees associated with these types of scams.

Thanks for the input guys . The $150 was going towards the $1400.00 package we chose so we can pick two weeks out of the year to travel and stay wherever they had access in diferent hotels and resorts around the world . We did speak to them after we returned home to NYC and they gave us temporary access to their website to see if we were gonna fully join .

I actually have a friend from work who owns time in some share in Orlando, Kissimee area.. Every trip they've been on has them regretting their decision.. One thing bothering them is the high pressure they receive into buying more time, being more week ownership..

    Save your money!!!

Sounds like an odd proposition. Then again I have no idea how timeshares work.

If google Travel & Leisure Alliance reviews, you get another forum where they have a few interesting things to say:
