Default Can a male wear a thong on Miami Beach?

Hi, sorry I'm new here and asking this question before I leave for my trip to Miami next week! Before you judge me, no I'm not a weirdo. I'm a single, attractive and in shape 25 year old male. I enjoy wearing thong swimwear (if you got the body why not right?). My question is, can a male wear thong swimwear on Miami Beach or will I get harassed by people and made fun of? It's my understanding that Miami is the thong capitol of the U.S right? If I can wear thongs, what would you recommend the best area of the beach to wear them? I know 12th street is gay and would prob be more liberal, but even though I wear thong swimwear I am not gay, so anywhere else? Sorry that this is my first thread but I want to know before I get on the plane! Can't wait to soak up the sun. Thanks.

Why not go commando and head to Haulover beach ?

Nobody is going to give a sh!t if you're sporting dental floss nor harass you. There might be some internal comments from a group/hispanic family laying on a bed spread nearby. Nothing more. If you're in your comfort zone- that's all that matters. It's not illegal.

Just make sure you cover your ass with a sarong or something when you become a pedestrain on the street. If you eat curbside on Ocean or elsewhere, make sure you don't spread your kidney sweat around.

Haha yeah I def won't be leaving the beach like that, only on the beach. Thanks for the assurance, I just don't want to offend anyone or be the laughing stock of the beach.

Any area of the beach that tends to be more where I would get less looks? I would like to try and avoid family central. I may have to look into Haulover Beach too.

Just incase you were curious... I educated our Maria about kidney sweat at a paddock in Hialeah. It's not a factor in QH races, but you might want to swipe your seat anytime you eat at SoBe.

I think we share the same peeve.

You can get away with pretty much anything on that beach. The best way to find a spot is just to wander up and down the beach until you find a crowd you feel comfortable with. The most popular area is anywhere in front of the Lummus Park section. South of there is more locals; north of there is more of the hotel (and family) crowd.

I've seen a few guys around South Beach wearing speedos, and for some funny stereotypical reason, they turn out to be French / Italian. These speedo-men seem to be straight since they're usually talking to / hitting on women. There's also an overtanned man in his 50s walking around in a g-string thong with a fannypack. Quite a view for the families and the kids!!

I agree with Blackford if you are willing to wear a thong to the beach might as well go all the way you only about .5 steps away from it any way. But I admire any guy willing to wear one. Not so much for appearance sake but becasuse by no means what so ever could I ever imagine a thong comfortable. lol

Dylan's right about the lack of comfort. I would just go with a sock! Like the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Ok, I have seen only a few thongs on the beach. It does happen. I say go with the Haulover route.

Well, when you says thong, does that include showing off the cheeks? Lots of those Euro guys wear speedos like the type that olympic swimmers used to wear. But if cheeks are in the air, go to Haulover. No one will care.

i say wear what you're comfortable with - if you have the body for it, do your thing! god knows there's all kinds of teenyweeny beekeenees going on with the ladies; nothin wrong with men doing it too!

yes, you might get some attention from gay guys, but so what....! when i get attention from lesbians I just decline politely same as I would with a guy i'm turning down the same way, LOL.
