Don't think a day has passed since when I don't think of Fred.

I'm revisting this topic as I was relating with some guys this morning of some symptoms I've come across lately. One a Dr., mentioned it sounded like apnea.

In the last two weeks, I've had three bouts. Scary as heck. On the latest occasions, I learned attempting to shout can snap you out of it.

The Dr. also mentioned some notable football players, all linesman that succumbed to apnea.

I've read some of the symptoms online and causes. Weight and drinking might be the culprit in my case. I'll be making my doc appt. on Monday.

Blackford, thank you for bringing this discussion back up. I'm happy you're getting this checked out. Taking care of our body is so important, yet it's so easily overlooked. I think you and I have a lot in common. We're both the "hard charger" type and like to push it to the limit, but eventually ouyr "go big or go home" philosophy catches up on us.

And like you, I also used to get sleep apnea; my bouts would come almost every night, before I stopped drinking alcohol. 13 months ago, I put a cork in the bottle and my sleep apnea completely disappeared.

Please follow your doctor's advice. I know you can turn it around. Just take her down a notch and enjoy the ride.

Same here. I think of him every day. It's still hard to believe he's gone. Being only a handful of years younger than Fred, his early passing is a hard smack of reality.

Fred was a great guy, and he is greatly missed.
