    Default New World Symphony Wallcast?

Has anyone done this? The Wallcast at the NWS?

My sister in law and brother in law will be over her in October and I thought it would be really fun to take the comfortable chairs and pack some champagne and munchies and head down to see it.

    Does it fill up early?

Can you bring your own booze? My husband will not go if he can't have a few cocktails.

    Any information would be great!

SO FUN. I like the live performances better but assuming it doesn't rain, it's a great time. Feels classy, but very "Miami" at the same time. And it's BYOB (as long as you don't get caught).

Jess I think has done this too, but New World really does some great programming to get younger people interested in the symphony.

I used to go all the time. It is so fun. I went every Wednesday to the movies (now work at that time which is why I had to stop going). I highly recommend it. I'd arrive maybe 20-30 minutes before if you want a good spot, or even start time is ok.And yes, bring a picnic and booze, it's no issue.

Just wanted to let everyone know how the evening went.

We got there, unfolded our chairs (they are cushioned, comfortable chairs) and got great seats and I was so excited! Yay!

    Then, the rain came.

And rained, and rained. And poured.

I remembered an umbrella that quickly got destroyed in the downpour.

The cushiony, comfortable chairs became waterlogged, soggy, weights.

No cab or Uber would stop for us so we walked the mile back to the hotel in the pouring rain, carrying the heavy chairs soaking wet.

    Missed the Wallcast.

Went back to the hotel, dried off, changed clothes, went to Havana 1957 around the corner and drank my weight in mojitos and ate roasted pork.

We are going to try again November 12th.

That is the thing we always forget when planning outdoor activities right. It's like "Oh yeah, I forgot it rains here!" But your story is familiar to me too. We've all had something outdoors and fun rained out.
