Default The street vendors on Ocean Drive, are they licensed?

just wondering if you need a license or permit to sell on the street there. i dont see any of them wearing anything that would say they are permitted to be selling on the street. me being from the nyc area, i know in order to sell on the street you need to be paying the city..

Me being a entrepreneur i have come up with some interesting ways to make $ in that area. But just wondering if anyone here knew off the top of their head whats involved to setup shop there.

I could always call the town but figure ill give it a shot here first.

    thank you

Yes, the vendors on Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road are licensed. The City of Miami Beach has a lottery every 3 moths where they give out the permits.

I contacted the City a few months back, and was told the licenses are only for artists and street performers. Permits are not issued to people with commercial ventures.

If you decide to get a permit, you may want to put down "mime," or "hand crafted jewelry" on your application. ;-P

Call City Hall for more information at (305) 673-7000.
