Hi ratlover33, thanks for the condolences. That was nearly 2 years ago, and today I have 2 boys, Grayson and Scooter. I also live in a new town with more competent vet care. They're doing well. Fortunately, male rats aren't as susceptible to tumors as females.

Such a tragic story! I hope you didn't pay the vet the second time around. How do the rats and the cats get along? I once had a cat die 3 days after her spay/neuter surgery. Animals can't talk to say what hurts. Gingie is not spayed/neutered and I plan on keeping her "natural" for now. The only downside is when she has her period she goes straight for my chocolates!

Gingie needs to go tothe vet to get a lump on her head removed..it's either cancer or a cyst,(I'm sure it's a cyst), some teeth cleaning, and she needs her ear flushed for wax removal.

Sungal, if they're raised in the same household, rats and cats can actually become very friendly with each other.
