Christy, he wasn't really even in Miami when he posted that. His IP address shows he was posting from Toronto. And the buildings in the pic definitely aren't from around here. I think he was just trying to spam different forums just to spread his name around the internet. He seemed to get off on the attention. It would be interesting if he and the zombie face-eater both had a Miami connection. They could've been roommates...

(Not from Miami here... I'm actually in Canada, and just deeply disturbed by the Luka Magnotta story, and digging back through his past online trail, trying to learn some things about what makes a person so twisted. As I'm sure you guys know from the recent Rudy Eugene story, it's all the more disturbing when this stuff happens in your own locale, like here, the political party headquarters receiving body parts in the mail from Luka.)

In case you guys are curious why he posted these messages here when he did, I strongly believe it's because at the time, Luka had posted videos of himself murdering kittens online. Given how upset this made people who stumbled across the video, a group was formed to investigate and find out the identity of the perpetrator, and they submitted their finding to the police, which identified Luka as probably being in Toronto. It's my belief that he wanted to throw doubt onto his whereabouts, because he not only posted here, but in forums for many other locations as well. Note how he prominently brings attention to his full name by posting it in the subject of his messages, so that it archives nicely in search engines and is easily found through basic searches on his full name. That alone, to me, is suspicious.

It's a chilling reminder to us all that we should be very careful when meeting new people off the internet.

Great News! German authorities have arrested Luka at an Internet cafe in Berlin!

Berlin police have confirmed they have arrested Canadian fugitive Luka Rocco Magnotta in Berlin.
A spokesman told the Canadian Press that Mr. Magnotta was arrested at about 2 p.m. German time today.
They said he was arrested without incident.
He is scheduled to appear before a judge tomorrow.

He caused me a bad dream and a few restless nights, but I'm going to sleep better tonight.

My condolences to the victim's family.

That wouldn't be surprising. Despite Luka's claims of being Mr. Manly in his original posting, his facial features have quite a bit of feminine character to them. ...like a drag queen or something.

I haven't seen much news, since the arrest. Some people say, he was inspired by the movie "Basic Instinct" starring Sharon Stone. In the film, she uses an ice pick as a murder weapon. LRM titled the video he uploaded "One Lunatic, One Ice Pick". When LRM fled from France to Berlin by bus, he used the name last name, Tramell, to purchase the ticket. Tramell was Sharron Stone's last name in the movie. And if you watch this video that was supposedly uploaded when he was on the run, he bears a strong resemblance to Sharron Stone in the movie.





If the video was uploaded after the crime, he looks pretty relaxed and confident, which is not how he was said to be acting when he fled from Canada on the plane. The passenger seated next to him on the flight was quoted as saying LRM was acting very agitated and smelled like sweat, and was seen crying in the back of the plane.

I read somewhere that he might have made that video before the murders and just posted it while he was on the run. Since his hair was a different color in the mugshot, that must be the case.
