Places to go and things to see for 21 year olds?
Firstly apologies for my absence and thanks to all those who commented my previous thread , all be it i didnt provide the best information ha.
Now life has slowed down a bit i can take a minute to tell you guys of the excitement i have for my trip.
Me and 3 other friends will be staying at the RIU Florida Beach from March 14th to the 19th. From my research i understand its in a good location and it looks quite nice from the photos.
We'll be staying for 5 nights in what i hope is the spring break season so we can catch some pool/beach parties through the day then go "clubbing" at night.
If anyone else is there through those dates then give me a shout. Also, can you recommend some other fun places to go and things to see for four 21 year old's?
After Miami we will be going to Vegas for a further week before sadly heading home.
Hope everyone's well.

You are coming to Miami over Spring Break, a perfect time for 21 yr olds to visit
You will have the pool, beach, bars, clubs and Spring Break spots such as the Clevelander to hang out at.
Fun things to do while you're here also include taking our fun Everglades air boat tour. You can go out into the Everglades swamp and hold the alligators. The tour is a hlaf day so you'd still get in valuable sun and drinking time.

Re: Places to go and things to see for 21 year olds?
Mid March is a great time to visit. Winter Music Conference 2013 will be taking place sometime in March, so there will be tons of parties going on all month long. Check back in late October and we should have the dates.
And as Jess mentioned, please come take a tour with us when you're here. No doubt, partying is what South Beach is known for, but there is so much else to see. It would be a shame to go back to England, only experiencing part of what makes Miami special. Our City Tour is geared towed young people, by highlighting some of Miami's strangest stories and most interesting places. We offer MB411 members a 10% discount that's good for you and your friends. It's really the best way to see the most of the city in a short amount of time. I promise you guys will enjoy it!

There are no shortage of things to do here. Especially in March. We could give some cool nightlife recommendations now, but those clubs may not even be open in March. Seriously. Or the club may not be good at that time.
We're happy to point you in the right direction insofar as where to go at night, but check back in, like, February and we can give you a better idea.

Thanks for the replies so far.
We cant organize our "spring break" as much due to our travel arrangements. We have to get everything booked early to keep the cost down so the dates are a bit of a gamble. Just have to see whats dealt our way when we arrive. However by the sounds of it any music festival is a bonus.
N as for seeing the city, speaking for my group we couldn't agree more. I know out of the four of us three would defiantly want to see the city and as for the fourth he's so laid back he's horizontal so he'd just go with the flow. Would i personaly get 10% of or would the group get 10% off? If not I'll just get them all to sign up.
I've been reading up on the clubs and they sound amazing however as mentioned clubs have ups and downs in terms of "form" ha and some might not even be open so I'm just trying to get a general knowledge before heading out into the wilderness. I will as suggested look closer the the time to get a better know how on whats on and where.
Am i correct in thinking that my hotel the RIU Florida Beach is about a 20 minute walk to the "main area" clubs etc?
Regards again,
G

Your hotel is on 31st and Collins, so some days you will want to take a cab and others you can walk down the boardwalk on the beach to the main area of South Beach.
You will all get 10% off the tour, so you should book when you have your dates confirmed. You guys would really enjoy it, I went with my boyfriend and his brother and they loved buying cigars in Little Havana.

I would say probably closer to 30-35 minutes, if you're trying to go to Ocean Drive and all that. I used to live on 24th and it took me a solid 20 minutes just to get to Lincoln Road. But it is a nice walk and if it's not too hot worth it to see the scene in South Beach.

We like a walk as you take more in. However whats the law in Miami to walk the streets with a beer. As in Vegas and Cancun (i know its not USA law there) we could have a 30 min walk etc and carry a drink in each hand for the journey. Not in glass containers i will stress, how do the police view this?
Cheers again

Don't walk round with a beer bottle in hand, but a non descript plastic cup is fine!

Yeah or even mixed drinks. As long as you don't have glass and you don't draw attention to yourself you're ok.

Yo really beat the heat you can always get slurpees or icees from the gas stations and spike it that is the best "Beat the Heat" walking remedy I can think of.
