Default Chunche's Ponte Verde Beach House Vacation (Pictures)

After the three car caravan slugged through the amazing coastal drive between Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, ( so highly recommend this ) Chunche is nearing his destination

Chunche's accomodation recommendation to all those that visit Fl in a large group, is to rent a house. It might come with a nice price tag, but when you spread the burden, it is a great deal. It's even better, wnen a friend treats you to Taste of Summer on 2795 South Ponte Verde Blvd.

The weekly rental goes for $3000 plus cleaning fees. This 4br easily handled my group of nine plus two dogs. The ground floor br alone had six beds, camp style.

As far as location, one of the better beaches I've seen in the state, and it was all ours.

The moment we got there, my clock got stuck on 5o' Clock and it became Chunche's world.

Thanks for sharing your summer vacation pics!

    Chunche is a hard charger!

Urban Dictionary's defination of "Chunche" is...

Specially used in Costa Rica: an all-purpose word which means "thing" and is used to fill the space for anything that the Costa Ricans cannot identify or explain.
Is that where you got the name?

I have head the Spanish version of Chunche and I know non-Costa Ricans that use the term I assumed as a name it would be pronounced "Choonche" rather than "chun che" but I would like to know where this name came from as well?

The pics are awesome; that last one takes the cake!

The beach reminds me of Sebastian Inlet, Melbourne area. So nice to have a house actually ON the beach; so rare down here in South FL.

What else did you do while there? How is the town?

Yep ! Chunché got a Tico name. He was originally called Coltrane, but that lasted only one day.
The varation I apply is similar to trinket...but in general, it's our equivalent of whatchamacallit.

As we were located in the S end of Ponte Verde, the beach town of Vilano was a 10 minute drive. That's where we did our groceries at Publix. From that point, across the bridge is St. Augustine in all her glory.

The gals went a few times into St. Aug. and outlet shopping. I just played one morn of golf and lounged at the house the rest of the time.

The Beach House experience is so exponetially superior, I'm afraid our Sanibel stay in three weeks might be a let down.

Ya G. The house had a million $ view which is what that house goes for in today's market. It was rustic and perfect.

After Palm Beach and Naples, Ponte Verde is the most affluent town or city in FL

Will definitely be heading back,as long as my friend keeps letting borrow one of his pads.

The ride included veering E on 92 through Daytona, where we took A1A which we took up the rest of the way.

Daytona didn't impress me, but from Ormond by the Sea, it was ride I want to do again and stay at beaches along the way.

The moment I caught glimpse of the coastline at Matanzas inlet, 15 miles S of St. Augustine. my hair rose. Most beautiful coastline I've seen so far in Florida.

Chunché got a very cool name.

If he was born in California, you might have named him, Chingadera, which you probably know is a similar term used by Mexican people. Or if he has a son, you can name him, Chingon, which I'm certain you know the meaning of.

    Mexican Slang Definitions
Chingadera: "f-ing thing" - often substituted when the name for an item or object cannot be remembered.
Chingon: a word used to describe something bad-ass, or extremely awesome.

Gus- Back in the day, my friends named my Proto Pipe, La Chingadera. It was beautiful machine.

Like the chingon idea. Picked up a cool shirt last time out W. Hope to use it in Miami that first week in Jan. #fighton
