Default What to do for under 21's?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but it seemed good enough.

My name is Christine, I just turned twenty and I've been living in South Beach for just over a year. Of course because I am so young I can't go to any clubs but I seem to have exhausted all other possibilities for having fun.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about something else to do around here that I may not have heard of before or if anyone had suggestions for something fun that I could do.

    All help is appreciated, Thanks!

    Volleyball on the beach

Bring some food/drinks and have a beach day with your friends

    Movies on Lincoln Rd

    Bowling at Lucky Strike

Go to Disney/Universal for a day

Instead of expensive drinks, get expensive coffee at Nespresso on Lincoln. The cushy chairs are worth it.

Have crepes at the crepe place near the movies

And whatever happened to spending the day shopping??

Hi EChristine! Welcome to the forums!

I have a hunch you are referring to fun nightlife stuff. Here's what I suggest:

You can sit at outdoor cafés and bars for people watching and socializing. As long as you don't order alcohol, you'll be ok. Ditto with certain very open-plan bars like Monty's, Smith and Wollensky, Finnegan's and joints like Ted's etc; If there's no one at the door carding, you can most likely go in; the issue at these places is not about preventing you from going in. It's just about preventing you from being served a drink because you're not of legal age yet. These kinds of bars don't care as long as you are over 18. Plenty of "young looking" over 21 adults go to bars and don't even drink.

Many grown ups enjoy life in South Beach without ever going to a club. Even the die-hards don't club everyday. "Fun" is hardly defined by clubs. Try out some of the bars and cafés and some of the great things Christy suggested.

Most things I do don't include an age restriction. They include beach, yoga, the movies, shopping, frozen yoghurt on Lincoln, segafredos, rollerblading, and generally hanging out with my friends. One of my good friends here is only 20 too so we don't always go out to bars and clubs.

Christine, do you have a car? Are you able to get to the mainland? That would open up other activities as well.

    Cool 10/10/10

You should consider coming to the meet-up.

Monty's is one of the places Maria mentioned and you don't have to be 21. Though most of the people there will be a bit older than you (and some like myself over twice your age), I expect there to be a fair amount of people in their 20's.

The meet-ups are laid back, relaxed, fun and a chance to meet people who frequent this board.

Montys is a great place to watch the sunset.

    Consider yourself formally invited!

    Hi Christine!

Have you taken a look at our list of things to do in Miami? There are many fun recreational activities listed (but you''ll have to figure out bus schedules):

That list is the best! It has info on almost everything.

Christine, if you're into the hipster scene, some places like the Vagabond and the Bardot, might allow underage folks. I've been a few times, and I've seen people who look under 21 (then again, I could be wrong).

Find places that offer drinks, but dont card you at the door. I'm pretty sure I read this above, but i just want to stress this.

Also you can find some house parties. and I didnt tell you this, but you can drink there.

Just please make sure you know the people who are in the house and hosting the party!
