Santa Barbara Hostel Opinion

Anyone stay at the Santa Barbara Hostel or have knowledge of the rooms. I usually stay in a private room at the Tropics, but am considering a private room at the SB instead. I have read the TripAdvisor reviews, which are mostly not very good. I am mainly concerned about cleanliness of the sheets, towels and room itself. Thanks

Hi girlskiier, the Santa Barbara Hostel is a comparative newcomer to the South Beach hostel scene, and it wasn't around when I wrote my hostel article a few years back. However, I did find a video that gives you a good look at the place. Unfortunately, it's in Portuguese -- but you can still get a basic idea of what's being said.




To me, it looks like it would be a little noisy at night. I think the Tropics would be a quieter place to stay. It's just a matter of what you want in a hostel, I guess!

Hi Girlskiier,

The review on tripadvisor.com are pretty bad. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, the South Beach hostel or the Jazz hostel, are much better options. The Tropics is pretty good too. Also remember, that in order to use the lockers, you have to bring your own lock (it seems to be the rule at many hostels).

Hi.... Santa Barbara and tourist hostel are very amazing environment to relaxation for the vacation trip. But, mostly people like to spend the time to Beach surrounding because of fully natural atmosphere with the peace of mind... So you choose either option of the hostel accommodations based on your needs...
