Lesser Pricey, yet decent hotels near Fontainebleau Hotel
Hi 411's
Can someone give me some insight on some hotels within walking distance to Fontainebleau Hotel...I am hoping to attend a a an educational event around 23 of Feb 2012 that is to be taking place in Fontainebleau hotel....
Wanting if anyone has any tips of a decent hotel within walking distance.....that is not $500 a night...Not wanting to sound like a cheapie.....its just that ive an educational budget for myself that needs something around $200...
As always, I appreciate any feedback from you folks...

Eden Roc is super close. Maybe you could get a deal on a room there.
I'm staying at the Clinton Hotel on Washington Av - seems to have quite decent reviews...and the prices are OK too.
If you're willing to cab it, you could always stay at the Clay Hotel for around $100 a night. While you'll need a taxi to get to the Fontainebleau, you'll have more to do during your downtime if you stay on South Beach.

Oops, I was moving and merging this topic to the hotels and lodging category and accidentally merged all the posts into my own post! Live and learn. At any rate, three people actually responded here in my previous post! Unfortunately, I don't know how to undo my action!

There's a Holiday Inn within very easy walking distance of the Fontainebleau if you need to be within walking distance, as well as cheaper places like a Best Western and a Sheraton. I don't know how good, bad or indifferent any of these places are, but the Holiday Inn would definitely be around your $200 budget and a very easy stroll to your conference.

Check out the Circa 39 and Courtyard Marriott at 3925 Collins. Those 2 might also be inexpensive. What Doug recommended, looking for cheap hotels in South Beach, can also work. Don't worry about being seen as a cheapie, the Fontainebleau is a rip-off (and its not THAT nice either!).
