Which is the best beach front hotel to stay at?
Planning a trip with my hubby and looking for help choosing at least 9 hotels to narrow our selection. 1) Beach/Ocean front (you can walk to the beach, very close that you can open your window or balcony and the ocean is there.) 2) A Balcony. 3) On Miami Beach, South Beach, Ocean Drive? (Someone said these are the areas that are closest to the beach?). We know about the Doubletree (highend cost). We would like at least 3 hotel names below $300 and 3 below $600 and 3 below $200. Thank you so much for any help provided!!

Re: BEST BEACH FRONT HOTEL TO STAY AT HELP!!!!
The price depends when you're traveling.
For your high end picks- W, Delano, Setai- below $600
Below $300- Raleigh, National, Hilton Bentley
Below $200- Royal Palm, South Seas, and Pelican

Then the Royal Palm is a pretty good deal, if its under $200. The Hotel Victor is on Ocean Drive, I think its pricey. For any hotel on Ocean Drive, you have to cross the street and the pedestrian walk areas in order to reach the ebach.

If you can afford the Delano I would stay there. If you need something more affordable I love staying at the palms hotel not to be confused with the royal palms. They are one of the few hotels that have their own private beach front access.

Agree, the Palms is a nice hotel, but why do you say it is one of the few hotels with beach access? Pretty much any hotel with an odd-numbered address along Collins (north of 15 St) will have direct beach access. I am not a big fan of the Royal Palm (which is different than the Palms as noted), other than location. It has gone downhill over the years.
If a balcony is important the Riu (next to the Palms) has many balconies, as does the Marriott in the 100 block of Ocean Dr (at a better location and higher price)

Sorry I meant private beach service. This is what they advertise that I noticed not a lot of other hotels in the area do. You can actually get served on the beach not just at the pool area.
- Beach service with sun lounges, umbrellas, towels and drinks service

Eden Roc! So gorgeous. But RK is right, if you throw a rock you will hit one anywhere on Collins and A1A up the coast.
