Hotels Near the Airport

What are some good hotels near MIA that are in walking distance of everything? I would prefer to save money & not get a rental, or do I absolutely need a rental?

Airport hotels are near the airport. You won't find an airport hotel that is within walking distance to everything in SoBe.

Coral Gables hotels near Miracle Mile are walking distance to everything in that little area -- an indie movie house, bookstores, plenty of restaurants, cafés, bars and shopping. Try the Westin Collonade or the Holiday Inn Express. Hotel La Palma and the St. Michel are two nice boutique inns. You will not need a car if you stay around Miracle Mile. The cab ride is an easy one from the Miracle Mile area to the airport, about 10 minutes without traffic.

Any reason why you want to stay near the airport? South Beach is the most popular spot and you won't need a car there, either. It's not that far from the airport.

The Airport area is a bit far away from all the action. The airport is in the center of Miami-Dade county, while most tourists atrractions and trendy areas are located on the coastal areas, mainly around the beach. If you're staying at an airport, you would need to have a rental car to move around.

A better option is looking for a cheaper art deco hotel in South Beach, or maybe a hostel. Some of them are pretty nice and clean, surprisingly.
