Miami Beach gets a St Regis

The only way I was able to afford staying at a St. Regis, many years ago, was becauise somene else paid for it. To this day, it is probably my best city hotel experience. It was on 59th St in the city.
My next subsequent visit to a St. Regis was to visit a client in LA. That property is no longer there, but the memories and impressions remain. I'd classify them higher than a Ritz or 4Seasons. Glad one made it's way to Miami Beach.
Opening night on January 19 presented another free stay at a St Regis. My sister's SoFL trip coincided with ours. Will probably visit her and report on the resort. My Bro-in-law works for Starwood corporate and it wouldn't suprise me if they got a freebie. The lowest rate that night is $675.

Step back in time and reserve a one bedroom suite for an evening at the published rate and stay the second evening for $4, just as it was back in 1904, when the first St. Regis was constructed.
- First night at published rate, second night at $4
- Offer valid through December 31, 2012
I couldn't get a quote for the suite on their site. Wonder how much that would set someone back.

I believe that this hotel was built on the site of a Sheraton that was demolished around 06-07'. Pretty luxurious place.
I looked at a room for March, and their most expensive one reads as follows: Imperial Ocean Front Suite, Personal St Regis Butler, Free High-speed Internet, Full Kitchen And Clothes, floors 22-24. For the low price of $2,456.43 !!
