The Sagamore’s Nudie Pictures are on Display

Back in August legendary photographer, Spencer Tunick, invited anyone who wanted to get naked to participate in his photo shoot taking place in the Sagamore Hotel. Over 600 people took part in the event.

The Hotel is now displaying 8 large prints from the shoot. If you walk into the lobby, you can see the pictures for free. But don't get your hopes up. There's not much to see.

If you ask me, the shots are more about the Sagamore Hotel than they are about celebrating the human form.

That photo shoot must've been the bomb!!! Yeah, it seems to be more about people-as-furniture. The people in the pool looks like a huge sushi platter. The people wearing the cloth are a little scary. Who knew we had so many nudist-enthusiasts in the area though! Very funny and thought-provoking!

I agree with you about the people in cloths - that is a little scary.

I didn't even realize those people were in the pool - they do look like a sushi boat :-P

I love the Champagne shot! My feeling is that the people were blended into the building as Art not so much that they stand out as nude people, but blend together as nude objects.

Hi Michelle, I just read Dan's article, great stuff! I like his sense of humor.

Also, what a waste of bubbly! I thought that was just water being hosed.

You know, I hate to sound morbid, but actually there is something very creepy about these photos in a holocaust sort of way ... yes, it actually reminds me of those dreadful photos from WW2. I wonder if Tunick ever though about it. :ohh:

With so many bodies, it seems like an overkill on nudity. Perhaps it's more of an artistic experience for those who participate. Nevertheless, the print quality looks nice -- I'm supposed to stop by the Sagamore soon and if they're still on display I'll check them out.

Anyway, I hope they used a lot of sunscreen!
