Winterhaven or Blue Moon ?
Hi again folks!
I'm luckily visiting South Beach again; and after doing a lot of web research, considering I'm getting there on Sept 20th to Sept 24th; and then I come back on Sept 28th to October 1st; the best two options are both the "Winterhaven" and the "Blue Moon Hotel"; due to a special promotion in which they give you for free 2 nights when booking 4 consecutive nights. They also provide free breakfast and WIFI....
So, my question is; does anyone know either of them? Any thoughts on which one could be better? I know Winterhaven has a better location, but the rooms have no fridge......
I thank you all in advance for your help !!!

Not familiar with either one. Where are they located?

Hi Carlos, thanks a lot for taking the time to read my post !
Here are both addresses. They're owned by the same company I believe, since they're referred to as "Sister Hotels".
Winterhaven: 1400 OCEAN DRIVE
Blue Moon Hotel: 944 COLLINS AVENUE

If they're owned by the same company, I guess you can expect the same type of quality from both of them, whether it is good or bad.
The Winterhaven is a little closer to actual beach. The Blue Moon is just one block further from the beach.
Both are in prime locations on South Beach.

Carlos, many thanks.....I think they both should be similar. Anyway, if anyone has been there; I welcome any comments that can help me decide.
Btw, does anyone know of any other "Summer sale" or Promo in South Beach hotels?
Thanks!!!

Between your two choices, go with Winterhaven (unless fridge is a deal-breaker).

Hi Rk, thanks for the advise! So you think Winterhaven is better than the other one? Or just because of the location you would go with it ?
Thanks again my friend !!!!

I've heard good reports about Winterhaven. Not familiar enough with the Blue Moon to make a true comparison, so I guess I am mainly going by location. You can walk to either Ocean Dr or Lincoln Rd without being in too noisy a spot.
Were you not staying at the Palmer House a while back? I would pick that over either of these, but if the price is right both Winterhaven and Blue Moon can be very satisfactory.

My recollection of Blue Moon from my June stay is that it needs some work. I did however notice, as I peered into one of their windows is they serve Blue Moon on tap. That's the best thing I can say of the place.

Hi Rk, yes, I did stay at the Palmer House and it was FANTASTIC. But considering this promos that both Blue Moon and Winterhaven have, they imply an overall rate which is $200.- below Palmer......and they offer breakfast and free WIFI (for which I would have to pay $9,99.- a day at P. House).
Hi Under Sun, thanks for your comment..........although now I'm not sure about staying there !!! I guess I'll call the Winterhaven and try to get a room instead of at the Blue Moon.......or you think it's pretty much the same ??
Thanks!!

winterhaven as when i stayed in blue moon is was needing remodelled and was smelling of smoke in my supposed no smoking room although the Chesterfield almost opposite is a reasonable priced clean new styled hotel i would recommend
-
Ok.....thank you all ! I guess I will look for other options, even if they imply paying a bit more.......
Thank you all !!! And I welcome any suggestion (apart from Palmer House since I've been there and it's great, but a bit costy compared to others).

Nothing wrong with Winterhaven. Except for the small rooms, it is above average for SoBe, so if you're getting a good rate I would go for it.

Rk, many thanks! I'm calling right now (since they didn't reply my emails) to make the booking.
Thanksss again my friend !!!

I didn't stay there, but I rode my bike while I was checking out the architecture in the area. You should be OK with RK's seal of approval considering the rate you're getting.

Good luck. Remember to call the hotel a few days before you arrive to be sure they remember your reservation, and let us know how you liked it.

I sure will! I have to call again tomorrow since noone answered today.......I will keep you all posted my friends .
Thanks again for being so helpful !

Re: Winterhaven or Blue Moon ?
Hey guys, sorry to bother once more.....but I've been trying to call the Winterhaven and the phone is out of service; and since I'm not in the US right now, I cannot call the 1-800 phone.....
Also, they didn't reply any emails.....any thoughts? I cannot just book online since I need to ask them how to redeem the 2 free nights they offer in the promo...
Thanks!!!!

Odd, I just called their 800 number and they picked up. They said the 305 number should be working. It is: 305-531-5571
Please try again. If they don't answer maybe consider the Blue Moon...

Hi Rk, as always, a thousand thanks for your help ! I actually called the Blue Moon and could contact the Winterhaven reservations.......in the end I booked for an Oceanfront room, so I will let you know how did that go....
Thank you all !!!!
