Default Do Miami Beach hotels have convention conference halls?

Is it possible to host a conference in any one of the Miami Beach Resorts?

A gathering of about 300 people for a weekend. Any tips?

    Great question, 1776.

Most hotels in Miami Beach do not have convention, or conference halls that are big enough for a group that size. However, here is a list of hotels that could accommodate you:

Loews, Eden Roc, Fontainebleau, Alexander, Miami Beach Resort, and the Palms.

You might also want to consider holding your conference at Jungle Island, which is about 15 minutes away from Miami Beach.

The Miami Beach Convention center is also relatively close to many of the hotels on the beach.

    Hope this helps!

I'm going to move this thread to the hotel forum.

I recently attended a conference at the Ronald W. Shane center in north beach. It was fabulous! I had NO idea this facility existed and I was blown away about how convenient and beautiful it was. It can hold a small conference of 300 easily. In fact, that's probably about the right number. It's right on the intracoastal with a great view of the water. Parking may be an issue for 300 people though, but I'm sure they must have something since they do events all the time. There is a municipal lot right in front of it plus street parking.

The center is a non-profit entity. It supports the Shane center downstairs, which is a professional training rowing facility. The center is also open to the local community for rowing activities. You will not feel that you are at a sporting facility though ... again, the waterfront location is gorgeous.

I would also recommend downtown Miami or Brickell for conference spaces if you aren't tied to the beach.

I always see huge events at the Lowes when I go past on my bike. They set up tables, stages, everything basically for huge events. They easily can accommodate 300 plus people.

I was more thinking if the hotels (F.bleaue, W, Gansevoort...) has their own convention/conference halls.

So the guests of the conference can use the hotel and stay on the property their entire stay.

Well those big hotels do have facilities. You'll have to call each one and discuss with their conference agents.

I'll throw this one out there and recommend the Hyatt Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale. It's a gorgeous space right near the beach.

I was in group sales in the hotel business for years and can help you with this.

Firstly, contact the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and have them put out an RFP (request for proposal). Give them your exact specifications (South Beach, on site, 300 for classroom etc) and the hotels that have space on your dates with what you want will get back to you.

Here is the link for an RFP Miami CVB Meeting Planner Login

I would get on this for 2011 as I'm sure Spring dates are sold out and fall is filling up. I had groups that would book ten years out.

The newer larger hotels will be able to help you, The Setai, Gansevoort, The W, Ritz-Carlton, Lowes, Mondrian, etc. You'll have an easier time of it with Monday through Wednesday dates as the larger associations tend to book weekend dates.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your input, Fred the Cat!

Also, the new New World Symphony Campus is supposed to have some space, I think.

1776, if you can't find anything on the beach, I recommend Hotel Sofitel by the airport as well. I can give you a contact for that.
