Default The Delano Hotel Pool (Pictures)

After the Shore Club pool, my next stop was the Delano, one of the premiere hotels on South Beach. Designed in 1947, it is an excellent example of Streamline Moderne architecture, and of all the places I visited, it seemed the most effortlessly stylish.

Lots of kids! I am surprised to see a little one crawling near the private "pool" table :)

Yes, there were a lot of kids both at the Delano and the National. The Palms and the Shore Club were the most adult of all the hotels I visited. Glad you liked the photos!

That whole Delano pool area is where I would want to throw some big bash...

Why the Delano, Suzy? Is there something special about the Hotel, or is it the mystique of the place?

In a drunken stupor, I once walked out to the pool area from inside the hotel. I saw a couple dining at the "pool' table and thought it was the most romantic thing ever. I've always wanted to have dinner at that table.

I just think it would make for a kick-a$$ party!

That last sign said "Delano Guests Only".

Did that mean for the pool area? My girl has been wanting to go have drinks by the pool some evening soon.

Great pics btw, thanks for sharing.

Hi Paul, glad you enjoyed the pics. As I mention in my pool-hopping article, you can generally get access to most hotel pools by entering through the lobby, and they won't bother you, as long as you're patronizing the poolside bar. There are exceptions to this rule, however, as well as variations, which I describe in the article. Hope it helps!

    Great...thanks for the article link.

She's mostly interested in the Delano which you say allows non-guests after a certain time...but I feel more confident about going to other hotels now.
