Talking Dreaming of going to Miami

    Hi!

I'm a swede who's dreaming about going to Miami.. At this moment I'm saving money in order to be able to go there.. My interest for Miami started when I saw movies from the eigthies when I was a teenager.. The beaches, all the happy people and the relaxed attitude seemed like a paradise to me..

Hi All , newbie here .
I've been researching SoBe for an upcoming 3 night stay , read as much as i can absorb before going around in circles .
Basically i'm an early 40's single Irish Male travelling alone .
Where are the best places to go for the likes of me ? .... without feeling like a 'weirdo on his own' lol
I'm planning the w/e of the Art Deco Festival 17Jan2014 .
Are there any Pool Parties on this w/e , is it closed Season as i see some do not reopen until Feb and what's the recommendation ?
Read about The Clevelander Hotel scene but maybe too old for this :o(
Just somewhere to chill by the Pool by day and party in comfort (without feeling too old) by night .
I've figured out the Restaurants and Beach , down to a few with the Hotel but the socialising on my own is the BIG question ?
WHERE WOULD I FIT IN + HAVE A BALL !!

Great work and Travel site by the way , looking forward to my trip .

    Big Thanks !!
    Sean

Hey Sean, there's a number of bars where you could feel pretty relaxed by yourself. Radio Bar in Sofi comes to mind, as does the SoFi Public House. Ted's Hideaway is another spot where nobody really cares if you're there by yourself. Clubs are a little different as they're loud and going by yourself requires getting in the door, which can be tough with no girls there.

As for pool parties, the Shore Club has a great one and is totally find to go and chill by yourself. Hyde at SLS and The Delano have good ones too, and the pool deck at the Mondrian is open to the public and even more relaxed than those others. Any of those you can go by yourself and be fine.

And to add to Matt's advice... no one is too old for the Clevelander!
