Hi and welcome to 411!
Are you already living down in FL and are now moving to the Miami area? What brings you to Miami?
Hi Jess!
I'm already living in Florida and planning to move to Miami for work.
Hi Chynadoll,
I met my best friend through this site!Aww..
We have lots of meetups so be on the lookout for those. Once we did an all girl meetup which was really fun. When will you be moving to Miami?

I'll be starting a new job in the Design District area in about 2 weeks, which I have till then to find a place to live and move before I start work. More so I'm looking to move as soon as possible whenever I find a decent place to live that I can afford. Apartment hunting has been very overwhelming. Friday I'll be going around to see some potential places, so hopefully there will something out there for me.
I'm now going on my 3rd week of living and working in Miami, but have yet to make friends besides the people I work w/ and my neighbors. I've been occupied w/ moving, getting settled, and work. I have yet to even really explore.
Just go out..even if it's by yourself. Having a great apartment and job you like is a great start. Join us at the next meet-up!

I agree w/ you. In Miami, people that I've bumped into and have met are really friendly which surprised me b/c I'm not use to it. People actually say hi to you and those you become acquaintance w/ give cheek bumps w/ air kisses (european embrace style) and hugs. In Chicago, people mind there own business and aren't really approachable.
