Re: Little Havana for single moms?
Yami, is CI - Pines still full of Asians? It's the only bar/club I've been to here that seems to be some sort of Asian hangout. No idea why.

Re: Little Havana for single moms?
I don't think Little Havana is equivalent to the Bronx in NY-it's not nearly as bad as living in the Bronx. Does anyone know if Little Havana even has low income housing/ "projects"? That's something the Bronx is known for.

Re: Little Havana for single moms?
I know a few single mothers who live in Little Havana I would only recommend trying to stay south of Calle Ocho but either way its not bad. I stayed for some time on SW 5th st. and 22nd ave. I have always been a fan of Little Havana. also spent some time on SW 9th St. and 13th Ave.

Re: Little Havana for single moms?
K, thank u all for the input, @ Christy, u r correct, I didn't see any "projects" in lil havana, n just like everywhere else, the Bronx have its good and bad sections. I live in a nice quiet area in the bronx, and have lived in the "ghetto". All I'm saying is that if I can do better for my son, y not go for it?.
I truly believe that the place doesn't raise ur kid, u do. I grew up in the " projects" in PR, n in the Bronx n I believe I turned out ok lol.
I'm not judging anyone from lil Havana, like I said I wouldn't rule it out but I will not put it as top of my list

Re: Little Havana for single moms?
Kendall is AWFUL. Awful, awful, awful.
If you want to avoid traffic, don't even think about thinking about Kendall. People living there typically have the worse commutes in the city. And don't even get me started on the people there, probably the trashiest, most boring and worthless people in Miami. There is ZERO character there and no businesses that are not chains. Like there is absolutely no reason to move to Kendall, ever. I've described it as "the worst of everything," as pretty much every negative aspect of this city is prevalent in Kendall.
Avoid it like the plague. You'd be 100 times better off in Little Havana.

Re: Little Havana for single moms?
SoBe is fine, though I don't know about having a kid there. It's also VERY expensive compared to LH or Kendall. So maybe not your FIRST choice.
If you were single with few expenses and no kids I'd say, yeah, go for South Beach. But it may be cost-prohibitive.

Re: Little Havana for single moms?
Ok, thanks for the info. Let's see how it goes once I get there
