You forgot the Pakistani Seven Elevens. But I see you are in the know in the motel biz.
The answer is actually no, the businesses mentioned are popular with Asians for the opposite reason, they cost well under the $1 mil threshold to get the entrepreneur green card. They require low capital investment, so naturally popular with people who are newcomers and don't mind working their way up. In almost all cases the owner/operators are here on a relative-sponsored visa, usually brother/sister and in some cases overstaying tourist or other visas.
