Re: Coming in 2 weeks from Europe cant find accomodation - help!
Hi Avan,
In which part of Miami will you be doing your internship? Check out some of hostels in South Beach, some of them allow you to stay for a few weeks.

A hostel is a good way to go! South Beach has many to choose from. Be sure to reserve early with the hostels, though, because Spring Break is coming up and they will be full soon.

Re: Coming in 2 weeks from Europe cant find accomodation - help!
Hi Mario,
I can’t stay in a hostel as I need to cook fresh every day because of food intolerances. So I need somewhere with a little kitchenette. I don’t think hostels have that? So the only thing left I thought would be a holiday apartment!? Also isn’t a hostel for people up to their twenties? In Germany there is an age restriction for hostels.
The internship will be in Brickell Avenue. I can’t drive so I though it’s best to live somewhere where I can catch the bus or train. I would like to live in South Beach because I think I could take a bus from there to Brickell Avenue? But anyway, can’t rent a real apartment from over here, would probably get ripped off renting it from oversees. So just need to find a temporary place first of all from the 13th of Feb for 3 weeks. Any suggestions?

Hostels do in fact have kitchenettes, with refrigerators and cooking facilities. This is actually what makes them more advantageous over hotels. None of the hostels in South Beach have any age restrictions that I am aware of. It's more about a state of mind than a number.

Hi Doug,
But isnt a hostel very loud and noisy with many young girls in there celebrating, probably especially over the spring break? I would need my own private and quiet facility with not so much noise&stress. Can you suggest a hostel or anything else where i can look?

Re: Need temporary accommodations for 3 weeks
The mood varies greatly from hostel to hostel. The quietest one I ever found was the South Beach Hostel. Staying in a hostel isn't ideal, but if you have such a limited budget, it's really your only option.

What other place could i check if i dont want a hostel? Can you name me somewhere (maybe a hotel with cooking facilities etc) that is trustworthy. I can spend around 2000 for the 3 weeks. Thanks

There's an Extended Stay America in Birckell that offers weekly rates with Kithenettes. Cheaper than the beach or a regular hotel, usually. Def want to call them though and see the deal. The website is kinda screwy.
I know you'd LIKE to stay in South Beach, but given your budget you may need to accept that it's cost prohibitive. You'll discover this once you start looking for apartments.

I think the hostel idea could work.

There are several bu routes from Miami Beach to Downtown Miami. In Downtown Miami, you can take the Metromover which is free to get to Brickell. Remember to take the Brickell Loop (not the Overtown loop!).
