    Default Tamiami/International Gardens

I have been looking at the red/green/yellow color coded map that someone posted on here and I am just wondering why there is one RED area surrounding Tamiami and what looks like the area around the canals. We are looking for a house in Kendall, and our realtor has sent us a few houses in this area. I would appreciate any insight on this area. Thanks!

Can you give us some specific streets? There are some parts over there that aren't so good, low income developments and the like. Not specifically high crime, mind you. You don't hear about Southwest Dade being particularly nasty until you get into Richmond Heights. But another area where you might find your car stereo gone.

I assume Stef means the map at this link which I post sometimes:

Do you mean the red area labeled "Tamiami Trailer park" when you click on it? The name should give you a hint in this case.

You're right rk, that is the map I was looking at. A few hours after I posted this, I looked into it a little more and I did see the trailer park reference, sorry...BUT, here are a couple of addresses that we have been given. Let me know if you have any input on any of them. Thanks in advance guys, I really do appreciate it. My husband is headed to Miami next week and has 3 days to find us a house. Yikes!

There's a trailer park around Sweetwater, but if you head East a bit, you'll find much better properties. You'll find plenty of sketchy areas (even if it's only a few blocks) next to better areas.

The three places you mentioned are all in OK areas, nothing bad that way. You will need to drive almost everywhere. The 2441 address is walking distance to a small mall, and easy access to the turnpike. The 1680 one is by far the newest, but also on the very edge of the city, only 2 miles to Krome Ave. The exact condition of each place plus proximity to work may be deciding factors.
