    Default Parking in SoBe

    Hello everyone,

    does anybody have experience with the municipal parking garages in South Beach? Could I already buy a monthly parking permit in one of the garages from abroad or do they have special requirements, e.g. having a proof of being a resident? I am just afraid that all garages are full at the moment when I will arrive in Miami (end of August).

    Thank you for any advice.

    You can but monthly parking there through the city, yes. If you want a residential parking pass, which allows you to park in those garages as well as street spaces and on the street in residential areas, you have to be here with proof of where you live. The garages are fine but having a monthly pass does not guarantee you a spot. So if you stay somewhere else Friday night, then come home at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday and try and park in the 7th Street garage, you're out of luck.

    Yes, I'm pretty sure you have to show proof of residence to get monthly parking at the parking garages. Here's a link to the parking office web page:
