Default How Did Miami Beach Hold Up During Hurricane Matthew?

I realize that Miami/Dade was spared the major wrath of Matthew, but was curious how portions of Miami Beach withstood this event and other rains this past season....I know major renovations are being performed on West Avenue and yet I still saw pictures of some flooding on some streets.....how bad was it and how commonplace?--just SoBe??...are the street renovations doing any good or just throwing bad money down the drain??

The hurricane was just a tropical storm for us and was nothing more than a cozy day home in the rain.

The King Tides are this week, which are very high tide levels. That's when we'll know how the pumps are working. I live on West though, and we haven't had flooding in a long time so I'd say it's all working.

For the record Brickell has had some nasty flooding over the weekend. Looks tide-related but I'm not sure. The Beach has been ok?

Definitely king tide related. West Av has been fine! Completely dry. Thank you pumps.
