Default Best places near Miami for country style living

By country style I mean land, land, land, big lots,2 acres & more as subdivision...

    Like a small ranch,horse allowed...

By near Mi I mean no more than 1h drive to Miami Beach on peak traffic...

If you're looking for country style living, with big lots and land, two places come to mind: Pinecrest and Homestead.

Palmetto Bay also has a county feel to it.

Have you ever driven down Old Cutler Road? The Road passes right by all the places I mentioned.

You would also want to check out the Redlands, there's plenty of land over there and the people who live there are very active in their government to keep out the big land developers (you can read www.eyeonmiami.blogspot.com for more on that)

Anywhere south of About Cutler Bay is good for that. If you go baking down south of Metrozoo, it's like all farmland. You kinda forget that stuff even exists in Miami.

Also, Western Palm Beach County has a good amount of farmland left, although it is getting developed.

Rule of thumb in SoFla, the further from the ocean, the more rural you get.
