I hate Beach Parking, I have parked all over the place in the beach, it's hit or miss. I have gotten away with a lot in the beach. But I have been towed once.

awe that sucks. i got one ticket for $50 for parking on the side walk next to the bike rack at the 22nd street library. 4 other scooters were parked there, so i thought it was okay. after that ticket i called the parking dept and asked a zillion questions about just where i can and cant park my scooter. :p scooters seem to avoid tickets more than cars but i try to be good about not chancing it :p

Shannon, thank you so much for you awesome input!!!

Bardi, I moved your restaurant question to Food and Restaurants so we can stick to the parking topic here. The new thread is here: Seafood & Steak classy restaurants in South Beach

Feel free to browse the Food and Restaurants section. We have lots of recommendations there.

That last sign in your original post must have had a typo.

My rule of thumb for the residential parking in SoBe ... when in doubt, don't park.

Bardi, here's another thing you should know. A parking ticket is often cheaper than valet at some of the hotels.

That typo is all over. Here's a picture from south of fifth. And yes, parking during the day on Sunday without a permit will get you towed for sure.

Maria - a little birdie told me you discovered secret parking spots on SoBe last week.

Feel free to DM the info at anytime.

You cannot park for free anywhere in the Beach, really. If you find a residential zone that isn't 24 hours, you can park there free during the times when it's not designated residential. Everywhere else is metered. So, basicall, no free parking on the Beach. It's just a cost of coming out here.

speaking of signs that need to be fixed, how about road markings that need to be fixed. i see an accident almost happen every time I'm in this area to go to the old publix. Cars drive all over the area where the lines have faded. Name: 252062_1714267996959_1845967276_1170197_1393798_n.jpg

Shannon, that's like my FAVORITE intersection in the Beach. I live less than a mile from there and get caught in the shit every day. Just adds to the entertainment.

lol @ " favorite intersection " I try to follow the lines that I can barely see but know nobody else is and have to be careful because I have little protection on a scooter. Well, no protection really.

My " favorite intersection" ( and said sarcastically )is meridian and lincoln. where when the light turns green people still let people cross when they arent supposed to be crossing, backs the cars up, everyone is honking and they stop mid intersection when the light turns red. um.. ur already half way into the intersection and over the stop line, GOOOOO.

    k im done venting now

Zone 11, Raise up! 24 Hour Residents Only Parking. That's how we roll in the LPC!

That's also why pretty much all of my friends have been towed at one point or another.

Wow, that means if your friends use guest parking passes and stay over night they have to have 2 days of passes on their cars to not get towed :p

I'm in zone 2, I think it may be the biggest residential zone in south beach it seems to be all over. Your zone is by my gym Matt, but I have the scoot so I can park in it

If I were allowed to buy guest passes, that would indeed be the case, Shannon. Thank god for hanidcapped parking placards, that's all I'm saying.
