Default Shipping a fridge?.. Is it necessary, or not?

Random question, but my husband and I are getting ready to pack up and move to Miami. In LA, it's common to have to provide your own fridge when you rent an apartment. We own ours and were planning to ship it, but from the Miami rentals I've been seeing on-line it doesn't seem necessary. Any advice?

That's a very Californian thing. I remember thinking that was weird when I moved out there.

Down here, I've never heard of a rental not coming with a refrigerator.

It's weird, isn't it?? I thought the same when I moved to LA from Chicago... Good to know that one less thing to worry about!

Yes, I moved to Palm Springs earlier this year, and the landlady gave me a loaner refrigerator! In Florida, it's pretty much a given!

Hi, Amachan, welcome to Miami Beach 411. Thanks for posting your question here.

I concur with the others - shipping a fridge is not necessary - I would sell it, before you move, but do suggest to bring/ship a bicycle, if you plan to live on the beach.
