Christophe, it's really just based on perpetual irritation and inconvenience. I mean, I WAS a kid once. So I don't think you can say I'm ignorant about it.

    Love that shopping cart, though.

I don't hate children at all, but I can't say I disagree with Matt on this point.

The fictional story by Jeremy Glazer on WLRN was fantastic. I have a new favorite local writer! But yes, it was fictional, though it rings a grain of truth to all of us here.

And it made me wonder though about the flip-side, though ... not everyone from somewhere else (ie "America" -- you know everything north of Broward) who moves here is better for dating. At least that hasn't been my experience. If the good ones leave town, then some of the crazies stay.

I guess my point here is why are not the local quality natives in Miami finding each other?

I also wondered if Glazer's fictional character Tonya hadn't been reading Miami Beach 411 ... she was from out of town and obviously had found many interesting things to do ... LOL

How did you know the story was fictional?

Opa-Locka is probably the worst. There's an area called the Triangle of Death (just like the one in Iraq), due to the large amount of shootings. Overtown is so poor that I think that even the dealers moved out.

But companies based down here shouldn't have a problem recruiting talent.

But what do I know? I'm just a journalist. Not an economist.
The mayors , commissioners and city officials have dropped the ball big time, in not being able to bring large corporations here and diversifying the local economy.

Mario, wasn't that about 10 yrs ago????
There was just a story in the Herald about things getting better and the barricades coming down.

Heck, I was just at the Brands Mart near Opa Locka and saw no problems.

I think Carlos is right, the political leaders need to do better in drawing business here!
