We're definitely going to continue tracking her. We already have come to terms with losing the money...now we're just trying to shut her operation down.

I called to tell her your suggest & she didn't answer. However, she texted me immediately
Funny how she continues to have conversation with you. Is there no police involvement yet? This is theft.

    Christy, your text was used!

    ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Please don't introduce a scammer to this site, especially one who scams people out of money on craigslist.

I moderate this site, and we have many people trying to move to Miami who are honest GOOD people, this is not the site for her to be introduced to, in my view anyway. I am sure Gus will feel the same way.

No phone call yet...At the moment we're forced to be vigilantes..

We have just a case number:

    Officer Azzori
    Case # 2011 - 25518
    Type: Fraud

Well, I'm glad you used the text.. but with her response, she's clearly not normal. It's so wierd how she seemed normal to you, but her texts don't make much sense. Like Jess said, she needs to stay far away from our site. Plus from the texts you posted we get her side of the story.. I wish you luck in dealing with her!

I tell yea, this girl is something else. If you can get her to meet up, I would contact the officer involved to meet up incognito. I really do wish you the best of luck. Seems like she may lost in her own little world.

She posted a new ad, "Cool Roommate to share awesome apt", but gives no name. She says she's a 32 year old GM who is going to MBA school (MBA, you betcha). This time it's Collins and 13th.

Why don't someone respond to this ad and ask for a viewing and FL Style and his friend can go along and try to get the money back from her face-to-face? And if she refuses to pay or says that she has no money, call the police and don't let her leave till the police gets there.

Perri that is a good idea. Fl_Style, you should reply back to the AD? Of course under a different email address.

Mario, not seeing the ad up on craigslist??? FL_Style you def going with an undercover. I would not go by yourself or with another person only. That is if you do respond back to the AD.

Here's the ad: Cool Roommate to Share Awesome 2BR/2bath

    She says:
I am 32yo GM who is going to MBA school and worked in the entertainment industry.
Please send me a link to your facebook or online profile when replying

--- I suppose she has scammed too many people and now need to screen through via your facebook or online profile.

What makes you guys think it's the same person on the new ad?

Sounds like Monica is trying to support a drug habit. You have to prepare for irrational behavior. See if the police can help.

Same title, same price, she wants people to post a link to their Facebook, it's very suspicious.

Christy, there is an easy way to stop these type of scams, use the website I posted in my first message in this thread to verify the real owner of the property, and make sure you're dealing with the owner, or the owner's agent. It only takes seconds.

Of course that doesn't protect you from unscrupulous owners, but there are additional steps you can take for that also.

Here is a little info on the apts:

1300 Collins Ave | Studio bedrooms 1 baths Duplex in Miami Beach, Florida, USA | Apartment Search Cazoodle | 864-80

You can always check with the property owners.
