Great post BB! Thanks for the 'heads-up!' Voting seems to be a great way to support everyone who makes our community so special. Thanks for the suggestions, the people and sites you included like yourself, gus, maria, carlos, beth, scott, along with people and sites like coach and soul of miami are why this 'social media' thing is exploding in popularity!

I encourage everyone to vote as you suggest!

Just finished voting--as fergie says i plan to 'do it on the daily.'

They did a nice jobs with links to each site listed.

I do have 'problems' with omissions such as 'soul of miami' and that miamibeach411 is in 3rd place (as of now) in the travel category.

I urge people to support our community and vote often using Burger Beast's suggestions!

    Thanks for mentioning the awards.

It's great to see so many of our members nominated.

Crazy, the rules allow you to vote once per category, per day. Well then, I'm going to make it a point to vote for my friends, everyday. I hope others vote everyday, too!

In the "Family" category, I'm pulling for "A Mom, a Blog and the Life In-Between" written by Tere.

Some of the categories are hard to find. The "Travel" category is all the way down at the bottom of the page, and I just realized there is a "Best Overall Blog" category, too. In case you missed it, here is a screen shot:

Voting was fun! One of my votes for 411 was best overall blog, but we weren't in the top 10 yet :( I have a feeling everyone here will win!! How many more days do we vote?

Okay, I didn't like it, but I voted.

    What a bad layout.

And the categories???? Technology AND Business? So Maria's Tech blog is up against lawyer blogs?

Art/DIY??? So you have Carlos vs how to make a cupcake? This makes sense?

And thanks for the shoutout Fred. I do notice that only 3 blogs made it into the nightlife category, so it's not like there wasn't room. But, we'll just keep doing what we do with no "official" recognition. I know nobody thinks of us like a "real" blog (which we aren't, really) and we are annoying some people, which is enough for me.

    Nice pick-up gus! Thanks!

So I voted again today and urge others to do so too!

Carlos, Gus, Maria, Scott, and Tere are doing pretty good but need our continued support. (I wish Beth and Sef were in different categories both deserve our support!)

Don't forget Sef, our Burger Beast is only 5th in the food category as of this post! Lets get him some well deserved votes!

Aside from the great blogs done by people on 411, are there any others that people enjoy? I saw a few with cute titles.

Just a reminder for everyone to vote again! I can't believe we're not on the top 10, of best overall. What's going on? They do make it a little tricky to vote for best overall...I want to win! How many more days do we get to vote?

    Let's keep voting!

MB 411 just surpassed SFDB for the top spot in the news category.

Photography is Not a Crime leads in three categories; art, politics and photography.

Tere leads in the mom blog category.

Maria leads in the humor category.

MB 411 leads in the travel category.

MB 411 is in second place in the neighborhood category.

Scott is in third place in the personal category.

Burger Beast is in fifth place in the food category.

And Photography is Not a Crime (my blog) is in seventh place in the Best Overall Blogs category with a bunch of unknowns (at least to me) in front of it.

Let's bring all our blogs to the front!

Some other Miami Beach 411 friends are on those lists as well.

Edwin, who helped with this site, is in Defies Categorization he's "Holy Crap My Hair is On Fire"

Kevin Hall's "Hidden City" is under Personal

I can't believe a blog that posts YouTube vids and pics about cats/dogs is #2 under Humor and #3 overall. It is a sad state of affairs ... not that there's anything wrong with cute dog or cats but puh-leaze, that does not compare to the time/effort and quality of content of other truly hyper-local blogs. Blogs that simply post content CREATED BY OTHERS should be in their own category and not compete with blogs that offer original content.

I hate to poo-poo on this award, but it was really poorly done by Sun Sentinel. I think they should've taken time to pay attention to every blog on South Florida Daily Blog's blogroll which is the best constantly curated list of ACTIVE, original, non-corporate blogs in South Florida.

There are blogs on there that aren't "real" blogs but purely commercial in nature. There is even one blog that I LOVE but she's not even local anymore.

Also, in the end it just becomes a matter of who creates how many different sign in accounts and it's a popularity contest with getting all your nearest and dearest to vote who aren't even reading your blogs. (Not the case with us, of course!)

So yeah, if it's going to be high school, let's GO FOR IT people and "represent" the quality bloggers who hang out here at 411!
