Usergroup permissions have been fixed, there was still an underlying issue. Please try logging in now to view the forums if you have already requested a new password.

I just did all that and got on, we will see how it works since I didn't clear the cookies, perhaps it will explode. Sorry to see this format, it is generic forum mode and is in use by many other forums. Graphically I think its pretty blah and missing the personality of the old one. It reminds me of the new packaging of Pepsi, Orange Juice, etc., where less is more and the products seem all the same. What motivated the change? I notice that the avatars seem to be missing, at least Gus' avatar. Did you have a choice of colors? This color scheme is the opposite of "Miami Beach" personna.

Like all things I guess we will get used to it.

    Happy you could log in.

I agree with you about the new design. Please be patient. Over the next few weeks, we'll be changing the layout to something unique that we will all have a say in creating. I'll start a new thread, where we can <strike>bitch</strike> talk about the layout.

Unfortunately the avatars didn't transfer over, but you can add your avatar again by clicking the "Settings" link at the top of the page, and then selecting the "Edit Avatar" link in the right column.

    Wow, finally got on!

The new forums have wiped all the PMs stored too, just so people are aware.

I hope you can get the cartoon skyline back, Gus, because to me, that was such a distinctive part of the site!

The column where thread titles when you see all the categories should be wider. You can only fit in a few words of each thread.

I like the layout but agree with Sun that it is a little blah. My eyes are getting lost in all the whiteness. I'm sure it's going to be fabulous though as Gus continues to tweak it!

I'm not sure what you're reffering to. Can you upload a screen shot?

Hey kids, be calm. The themes take a long time to get tweaked. I have no doubt Gus & co will get them all purtied up in time. (I speak from experience, here.)

I am just glad to finally see a "go to first unread post" button!!!!

    Why vBulletin and not phpBBB?

may have hit the wrong reply button by mistake, not sure where my last post went (possibly to coach directly, sorry). Hope this works.

Clearing cookies did not help logging in. Had to request a password reset. Otherwise getting used to it, but shows promise.

Well, I am still getting used to it, but agree with Coach. No one likes change and we'll prob end up loving this new software. I just went in to my settings and changed a bunch of stuff, like the PM function was switched off.

Also, what is infraction? The bottom left icon says I can infract with rk apparently?! Ooh!

Jess, you asked about "infractions"? Here is a description from the vBulletin manual:

The User Infraction system is designed to automate the management of misbehaving users.

Infractions carry a point total that is awarded to users. When a user reaches pre-determined point levels, the user is given infraction groups. Infraction groups are set up to restrict the permissions of users.
The user infraction system looks like it works similar to how the user reputation works, which is one of the features I'm really looking forward to implementing.

Careful now. I don't want to be infracted from the site before I even had the chance to learn this new interface.

We would never lose you rk. You are our resident techy! Well, me and sungal at least, we are the only ones who have computer issues...

Well I for one am loving the new site. It may not be as pretty as before but I have even more moderating (AKA Kick ass!) powers heehee.

    Spammers...BEWARE!

I hear you, Doug. The old style has a special place in my heart .

The cartoon skyline was made by photographing all the most iconc buildings in South Beach, and then tracing the buildings by had. The city loved the design so much, they used it their community satisfaction survey.

I promise that after we finish the design for the new style, we'll add second style, with the old cartoon skyline that members can switch to.

Congrats on the new site. I really like vbulletin formats.

The only thing I find difficult is the color layouts for text. Its a little hard to read with the small black type against a light grey background, mixed with the pastel blues. A dark background with white font is much easier to read. Perhaps a way to select that as an option?
