A big thanks to SoBeKristi for writing our first Carl Hiaasen book review. Kristi does an excellent job telling us all about Flush - a Carl Hiaasen book for young readers, and those who are young at heat. Read it now!

Brad's review of "Team Rodent" is up. Read it here.

Well done, Brad. Very interesting subject matter given the State we live in.

    Carl Hiaasen is the shit.

Fur sure, dude. Given your way with words, I'm sure the review will be totally kick ass.

Writer, triathlete, and all around good guy, Matt Meltzer, has done a fine job reviewing "Nature Girl" by Carl Hiaasen:

So while anyone who enjoys Carl Hiaasen's writing will most certainly enjoy “Nature Girl,” it is not really a satisfying read. Hiaasen is almost undone by his own crafting of character and conflict, as the lack of story leaves us wanting more. And while the book was a New York Times bestseller, Hiaasen, as his personal integrity would dictate, is probably not looking to put out a sequel."
Nature Girl: Carl Hiaasen Goes Native.

Does anyone else want to write a Carl Hiaasen book review? MiamiBeach411 is paying $100 per review.

    About that triathlete part....

I fell off my bike during a race on Saturday and apparently knocked myself out cold for a while. Also half my face is now on the asphalt at EG Simmons park in Tampa. Oh well, I'll be healed in time for the Escape in October. As for right now I look like I got hit in the face with an iron.

Can I claim a book? I'd like either Hoot, Paradise Screwed or Striptease.

Sounds good. Thanks!! I'll go reserve my copy now and pick it up tomorrow. When do you want the review by?

ETA- I have the book and am getting started on it. Should have it finished pretty quickly. Let me know if you need it by a certain day.

If I wasn't so tied up, I'd review Sick Puppy or Skinny Dip. The latter was so rip roaring hysterically funny that I almost peed my pants several times! Put it to you this way, "Tool" is one overweight redneck that even a North East elitist could fall in love with. BTW, I live in Maryland and we are south of the Mason Dixon line and there are a lot of "Tool" characters alive and well in our neck of the woods including yours truly. Suzy, Gus, Maria and Michelle if you read "Skinny Dip" you probably saw a bit of "Tool" in me when you graciously hosted me and Phil several weeks ago!

Thanks Gus! I'll have a look for that book now, hopefully I still have it! I dumped a bunch of books off at the Book Shelf when I last moved (btw they give ridiculous amounts of credit for used books)

Thanks for the add to your websites, we appreciate all the exposure we get!
