Thank you all very much. The forums would have never been a success, if it wasn't for your dedication and willingness to share yourself with others.

And Maria, a special thanks to you for being the first to moderator on the team, and for encouraging us to meetup in person. You have taught me a lot about about sharing and being a friend.

For those who are interested, Maria, Mirna, Michelle and I launched the forum on July 31, 2006, so it took us almost exactly 5 years to reach the 100k milestone.

Here's to making more friends!

Wow, that's right, Gus!!! How time flies!!! So this is also a 5 year anniversary milestone.

And you are very welcome. Thank YOU and Michelle for letting me be a part of this great site. And thanks to all the others who have joined along the way.

So many new sites have popped up trying to do what we already do here. Nobody does it better the way we do it in this forum, imho

This forum was an indispensable resource for me when I moved to Miami in 2007, and I count myself very fortunate to have joined on to help scores of others with their own Miami research! Hope Miami Beach 411 is around for years to come!

I LOVE 411 and here are just a few of my many reasons why...

It inspired me and helped me move to Miami after I found an article when I was fed up living in gray old England (thanks Doug! )

It showed me where to shop and eat for my weird dietary habits. (Again, thanks Doug! Meridian Market rules!)

411 helped me make friends when I knew nobody here.

I fell so in love with the site that they asked me to work for them.

And it brought me to Gus and Michelle, who I love more than anything for being great friends and the best hosts Miami will ever know.

So to sum up, joining the forums helped me change my life. Thank you Mr and Mrs Owl! xox

OK, this not so hard once you note that the 100,000'th post happened not around the date of this thread, but on the evening of July 15, 2011, around 6:15 PM EDT. I myself was in transit at that time without network access, so not in running for that honor.

As you might expect, one of our top posters got to post #99,999, and that is of course Jess, with this post:
Are there bad areas to live on the beach?

She followed up just 3 minutes later with post, #100,001
Did Meltzer open a restaurant outside Pittsburgh?

So who put us over the top? It was none other than Meltzer himself, with this insightful post #100,000 about non-smoking beaches:
