Alright guys? was just wondering if an UK license is ok to use when going clubbing? And whether bouncers scan it?
Cheers

Re: UK IDs..
I'm not sure about scanning but UK and other European IDs work here. I've been out with people who have them and if the ID is legit they've gotten in.

Re: UK IDs..
I was at a club this weekend with a couple of guys from Italy, and the bouncer said they were only accepting passports from International people. Now I'm not sure if all clubs are doing this, but why don't you just bring that out to be safe?

Re: UK IDs..
Any club doormen that say that are morons.
My friends always use the licenses when they come, and yes some are provisional. So they are green. In the USA, licenses are a million different colors so the color makes no difference over here.
I used to use my UK license as ID before I got my FL one, never had an issue. I'd be pissed if some thick ass doorman did not accept it.

I believe it's a new thing, Jess. At least that's what he said. It was at Plunge (or the elevator to Plunge I guess) at Gansevoort.

God that's annoying. Who wants to risk losing their passport, especially not in your own country?

Re: UK IDs..
I agree with Jess, way too risky to bring your passport out to a club. Things get stolen easily and once you're drunk it's so easy to lose things.

Re: UK IDs..
Oh yeah, absolutely. I guess because the foreign IDs were getting faked too much and were unscannable? Who knows. KId just slipped him 50 with his Italian license and we got right up.

Re: UK IDs..
Our licenses do not scan but have holograms etc. I would never use a passport as ID. And I even have a spare one!

Re: UK IDs..
Yeah, i really dont want to carry my passport around with me for exactly those reasons.. Guess using the provisional is the best bet, would hate it if we got rejected because of it though!

Re: UK IDs..
Doubt it will happen, and if so, try somewhere else! A lost passport is NOT worth a good night out.
