What clothes do you need to wear to get into the clubs?
Please help me! I am a 21 year old english guy and im coming over to Miami in March for UMF. I'm here for 9 nights and obviously we'll be looking to experience as many of the clubs as possible? However - here in England the clothes we wear on a night out has changed dramatically in the last few years. Typical attire in England would be - pumps/slip ons, chinos/jeans and a t-shirt Has there been a similar change in the US or is there a different policy??
Any help would be much appreciated

You've pretty much got it. Except for the T-shirt. I would go with a button down dress shirt (fitted and untucked). Some clubs don't like guys in just t-shirts.

Yeah, a dress shirt is a better option. In some places, they don't want guys in sneakers. And definitely, no shorts and sandals.

Hi Jratcliffe,
Most American and Latin guys wear dark jeans, a nice button down long sleeve dress shirt, and dress shoes. I notice that the European guys do their own thing and tend to dress a bit more casual and look more stylish. UMF brings a younger, more casual crowd so for Space your outfit would be perfect, but for places like LIV you might want to skip the sneakers. You can also google the clubs and look at photos to see what people wore to give you some ideas.

Well converse sneakers mix well with a lot of clothes. It might work, except for LIV, as Christy mentioned. Polos can work too.

I've heard "Converse" sneakers mentioned a few times over the past couple years as possible club wear. What makes "Converse" brand sneakers any more appropriate than other brands of sneakers?
I wish all brands were okay. I used to wear Converse years ago, but have since found other brands that fit me better.
Thanks.

Converses was the quintessential casual sports shoe in the 50's or 60's. Since then all the major shoe companies made models very similiar and style shape etc. It also doesn't hurt with the large amount of celebrities wearing them to events with suits etc. Nowadays most people call anything remotely looking like it a converse as it's a name so widely recognized.
Back to the original poster...dress shoes/nice shoes, dress shirt and jeans gets u in just about anywhere. I do suggest you find a female friend to bring to the clubs, show up early, or expect to wait in lines.
