Table service
I tried googling Table service in Miami before posting this but I'm still a bit sketchy. The only experience of table service I've had is in Mexico where it cost around $40 per person in a group of 5 so $200 and you get three bottle s on the table. Once a bottle is empty a simple $20 tip (per bottle not person) will get a new bottle. So the prices being spoke about in Miami table service are obviously some what different to those I've mentioned.
I also appreciate the whole "sex sells" in that my time in Vegas i noticed the price girls paid and the price guys paid to get into places, as well as the time they had to que. So i assume a table of four guys asking for a table compared to a table of four guys and four girls the prices will be different in terms of value?
So could somebody just outline to me what you get for a table costing say for example $1,500. Is the table price set then its cheaper/ expensive per person depending on how many's in your group?
Regards

Re: Table service
I will try and give you an explanation to what is a very good question. However, please keep in mind, I am a girl, and so I don't know exact prices of bottles in each club.
Sex sells in Miami also. Girls don't pay to get into clubs, guys do. Girls ask for table service and get given it free by promoters vs guys who have to pay triple prices for bottles. It's not fair but it's how it is.
In the normal clubs, bottles sell for $200 upwards. It can cost thousands depending on brand of alcohol and what club you are in. Liv has a ridiculous $2-3k minimum. And that club isn't that good really, it's full of wanabes who can say they went to Liv. Give it a miss unless there is a DJ spinning that you HAVE to see. Tiesto plays there monthly.
Four guys asking for a table can probably buy one bottle, but realistically it will be at least two. Anyway, between four of you, 1 bottle will not be enough anyway. When the bottle is gone you will be asked/ expected to buy more or lose your table and join the other regular people shuffling around the tables, trying to find a space to party as most Miami clubs don't have dance floors anymore to make room for more tables. More tables = more revenue for the club.
Tip and tax is not included in bottle price here so for a few bottles, you are looking at a couple of hundred there also.

A couple of things to add......
If you don't live here, the minimums are fairly meaningless. It's quite easy to order one bottle, then say you're done, pay for it and leave. They can try and charge your card the minimum amount, but that's fairly easy to protest since legally you are only required to pay for what you consume. So you can agree to the minimum and gaff them off when the busty waitress asks you to buy more. You'll probably never be allowed back in, but if you're just visiting it doesn't matter.
Also, you can nurse one bottle all night if you want. Drink the mixers and whatnot, that way you keep your table. If you're not hellbent on getting drunk and not giving drinks to every bottle whore who walks by, it's not hard to do.
Finally, the "minimum" you're quoted will depend entirely on your group. If you have more girls, it may be $1500. If you have all guys, it may be $2500. If you're dressed poorly or are fat or something, it may be even more. There's no set amount, no published amount. It's a number the door guy throws out there.
And on a night that's not super busy, it's also negotiable. They say the minimum is two bottles, you tell them you'll buy one of something expensive. They go ask a manager and let you in. Remember nothing is set in stone, and as long as you pay for what you drink you should never have a conscience about screwing a club over on a minimum. Trust me, they deserve it.

Re: Table service
So if they say a table costs $2000, basically there saying you've got to buy 10 bottles (saying its $200 a bottle). However if were not feeling it, n due to us only being tourists we can just pay for what we drank and leave.
Now how big are these bottles, I'm presuming they can be vodka, whiskey , tequila what ever you ask for. HOWEVER the size bottle I'm thinking of , and will be surprised if whats there selling is any bigger, cost at home AT MOST £30 for a bottle of JD / Southern Comfort. Now in today's exchange that works out around $45. So is the other $135 just purely for exclusiveness or are these bottles there selling big enough to put a message in the size of the Miami phone book?

It's a normal bottle. A bottle you can pick up a the liqour store for probably $30. You're paying the club's rent.

Re: Table service
The clubs where the minimum is $2000 or more are not charging $200 a bottle. More like $700 or so. The $200 a bottle palces have much lower minimums, if they have them at all.
The bottles, I believe, are 1.75 litre bottles. Not magnums, but the bigger size you'd buy for a party or whatever. I may be wrong on that. Bottom line, that bottle is still costing you $700 or whatever. Maybe $500 and you buy two on a slow night. I got a magnum for $750 once and it lasted the whole night with a group of like 8.
But yeah, but it at the liquor store and it's $30.

Re: Table service
Well that makes things seem less..... expensive ha. Its just In Cancun We were drinking a bottle each so just a swift change of strategy and have a few drinks to get a buzz before going out. (I've read the info on not turning up to the clubs wasted as i know in the US your stricter than some places) then share a bottle.
So from whats been said the best thing our group of 4 can do is make our group bigger, preferably with the addition of females for more appeal to the clubs and ... just in general more appeal then the idea of more guys ha. Then if we had 1 bottle that works out at around £60 each. Which on a Big night out is about a 3rd of what we'd spend. So could get 3 - 4 bottles on the table.
Work out just fine, Touch wood.

Re: Table service
It is much easier for guys to get into places with girls. Offer a group of ladies a drink if they walk in with you, and you'll probably just pay a cover and you'll be in. Yes, it's that simple here. Bottle service is good if it's a birthday or party, but not just for a night out.

£30 for a bottle?? What bars is this in? Its £30 in the shops but in the clubs in Manchester its at least £110 for the cheapest of bottles if your in a bar/club.
I went in March, we went to Space which is more of a ravers club and we got a table for $400.
Liv we never got a table and just bought normal drinks.
Mansion we didnt get a table but had a bottle on the dance floor. I think it was a litre bottle and that was $450 dollars. They had cheaper for around $350. The total tab was around $750 after shots etc. The second time we went we just had a bottle and that was enough.
This was for two guys. And as everyone has said if you going to more 'elite' clubs having some girls in tow helps massively and dressing to the 9's in shoes and shirt will make life easier.
My write up is here, it may help a little...

Re: Table service
Finally some prices from a recent clubber here! Thanks for the help acky, we don't always know as we don't buy bottles.
Space is my fav club but I guess I am more of a raver lol!

Re: Table service
Space was great and they really look after you while your at the table. We got there around 12 and left at 9am I think. We only had one bottle but they didnt try and move us on or anything. It was just a standard Saturday night though. I think my friend drank more water than he did vodka. He was actually shivering as it had brought his body temp down haha (no drugs involved either!)

Re: Table service
Don't you love Space for that though? You can hang out and not be hassled to buy new bottles. When we all did a table once at Dream, we spent about $750 and as soon as we finished and didn't buy a new one they brought a new group to the table and kicked us off. Which after you've just spent hundreds is bad taste in my opinion. Which is why the clubs aren't about having fun and dancing here, they are about $$$$$$$$$$......

Re: Table service
I still think we should have just sat there and sipped mixers all night just to spite them, Jess.
That all said, yeah, bottle service, like many other things as Space, is much more customer-friendly.
