Bachelor in Miami
Hey everyone.
We (six of us - including the groom) are trying to plan our trip. Arriving on Aug. 2 around 9pm and leaving on the 5th at night. We are staying at Hilton , and if at all possible, we'd like to do something within walking distance. All of us are between 26-30; very social, fairly good looking guys; very active party like guys. We need suggestions on what's fun to do while there. Thur. night we'd like to hit some type of a lounge or bar where there are a lot of girls. On Fri we were thinking of going sailing and then hit the clubs, lounges or bars (we do not want to spend thousands of $$$ on clubs). We are open to any ideas you may suggest. Also, we need places to eat: lunch and dinner.
Thanks everyone for your time and input.
We need:
Clubs
Day Activities
Good places to eat

Hi and welcome to 411!
Before we go any further with your question, which Hilton hotel are you staying at? Just so we can plan walking distance things for you all

Thank you.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
That hotel is in a great location, right on the beach and by some good places to eat. In the South of 5th area there is Big Pink the diner, Montys which has a killer sunset and happy hour at the marina, and if you are looking for steaks, Smith and Wollensky and Prime 112 are one block away.
The beach is literally on your doorstep and by your hotel there is a watersport store where you can rent paddleboards and surf boards.
Nikki Beach is next door and does good happy hours and there is a club above for the evenings. Other clubs are further up into SoBe and you may want to get a cab there as it is so hot in August.
Lots of girls for all you bachelors on a Thursday night will be found at Plunge, the rooftop pool at the Perry hotel. Another good Thursday night spot is Mynt, the Clevelander and Dream.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
Thank you Jess. This is a lot of help. What about Fri and Sat nights - what places (clubs, lounges, etc) should we visit? We will also be able to drive - any fun activity within driving distance? More of like a guys thing.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
The Shore Club pool party will be fun and you're super close to check out Nikki Beach on Sunday night too. South Beach runs from 23rd -1st, so you're all the way at one end..but taking a taxi is pretty cheap. If you walk everywhere you'll melt before you get there. You don't need to drive. Doing valet is more expensive than a taxi.
For a guys trip you could always do our Everglades Tour.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
Friday and Saturday will be tough if you're not looking to spend thousands of dollars. I'd recommend LIV and Mansion as your go-to clubs, but as a group of guys you are literally looking at a grand or two to get bottle service to get in. Otherwise it's a long, painful process at the door. Mokai is a decent lounge, and if you get there early enough (before 11:30) on a Friday or Saturday you may have a decent shot of getting in. Otherwise, it's a tough call. I'm not a huge proponent of Miami for bachelor parties for this reason, unless you come with the mindset of dropping a couple grand each on nightlife. The bars are good, I love those. But it's not gonna be the Travel Channel experience you're looking for.
I'll jut give you a quick heads up to avoid Madonna's strip club like the plague. I have been to every strip club in this city, and several around the nation, and this is the worst one I've ever been to. So if you get drunk and decide "Hey, that might be fun," avoid it. Seriously. Head to Gold Rush downtown if the urge strikes you. It's right next to Club Space, which can be fun but gets a little on the Miami trashy side. The upside is you can probably get in.
Insofar as food, Prime Italian is my favorite restaurant in the Beach currently. The Kobe Bolognese lasagne is like $23 and I weight 200 pounds and it lasts me two meals. And is unbelievably delicious. And they don't jerk you around like Prime 112 across thwe street. If you wanna do steaks, I'd recommend Smith and Wollensky, who won't make you wait an hour if you have a reservation (like Prime 112) or Red on 4th street. Both are within walking distance.
Big Pink is probably the worst service in Miami and the food is only good if you are drunk or hungover. Hit up the 11th Street Diner instead for late night/drunk/breakfast food. Unless you're too hungover to walk. Brunch at Nikki Beach is good, but be gone by 4 or the crowd gets uber ghetto.
Lunch is whatever. Noplace is gonna be that unbelievable so just hit up whatever strikes your fancy. Just avoid the restaurants on Ocean Drive. Save for maybe Lario's they're all interchangable, and overpriced. Walk down Washington Ave or Lincoln Road and try a spot there that looks interesting. Nothing too terrible through there and a few gems. Puerta Sagua if you're looking for Cuban.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
Hi thegrtone,
I will address day activities - the Original Miami Tour is great if you would like to see more of Miami, and the Everglades Adventure Tour is lots of fun!
I also recommend the Key West Snorkeling and Booze Cruise. The tour is all day, as Key West is about 3 1/2 hours from Miami, but I think it's a great tour to break up the routine of beach, clubs, bars.
We can offer a discount on the tours. Let me know if you are interested
For restaurants in South Beach, I love the shredded chicken tacos at T-Mex (14th St between Collins & Washington); they are the best tacos I ever had.
Pizza Rustica is yummy hangover food, or good to eat after partying.
Maybe it's touristy but I love breakfast at the News Cafe (8th & Ocean); the oj is fresh and the menu is huge. I also recommend for lunch or dinner.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
Wow Matt, nothing good to say about Miami at all right now. Everything you described was 'miami trashy'. I think monaco is getting to your head!
I think Miami would be a great place for a bachelor party. Fun, sun, alcohol, parties, good food and tons to do. You guys are gonna have a blast.

Re: Bachelor in Miami
Haha. I just said it's not the best idea if you're on a budget. The big clibd bachelors fantasize about are cost prohibitive to normal folks. This is the truth. Remember guys, especially guys coming for a bachelor party, have a different agendas than just sun and alcohol.
That said, you know exactly what I mean by miami trashy. I used to rent about that long before Monaco. Though I won't lie, not hearing Spanish or the word "bro" for a week has not sucked.
