Not sure what's going to happen with Gansevoort - there's an article in the Herald, but I haven't read it yet. I imagine that for now, it's all status quo.

Tere it was well known that Sandy Lane Partners---the holding group for the gansevort was allegedly having financial problems. Typically, these auctions are done so the original investing group can 'buy-back' their property at a discounted price. I doubt anything will change. The Roney Condo owners, however, would be happy for a change as they feel the financial drain of the hotel has impacted their association fees and value. That's one reason I chose not to by a condo there.

For now, I suspect we'll always have plunge!

I like the Mondrian/Gansevort idea! The Mondrian bar is very happening on a Friday. I didn't suggest Plunge because I thought it was Thursday. Is it Friday as well?

One idea could be that you split the group..6 reserve a table for bottle service (easy entry and a place to sit and relax), and the other six arrive in 3 pairs (guy and girl). It's a little risky, but will save you $$$$.

I would imagine if you show up at plunge in a large group they'd try to sell you on bottle service.


Mookai or the Florida Room could be a good backup.

Man, we need some decent club-clubs again. All we have are uber-VIP and urban/hip-hop, anymore. Then there are the hipster clubs in the Wynwood area, and the uh... well, whatever you want to call Space and the other clubs downtown. I long for the Crobar days!

Crobar? Let's go back to the Cameo in 1985! It was a great alternative rock club ... miss it!
