Tel Aviv is a lot like California. Matter of fact, Israel as a whole reminded me a lot of California. So, yeah Gus, you'd probably like it there. Definitely worth a trip.

Next time we're together, I'll tell you the story about loosing my car keys in the water, 20 kilometers from the nearest town. The worst part was, my new Nissan Pathfinder rental was parked on the sand, too close to the waster, and the tide was rising. (Why did I sign the contract, promising to not drive on the beach?) It's was an enlightening day, to say the least.
By the way, Ollie don't surf! He just used it as a base of operations to smuggle weapons (and maybe a cocaine).
Dominical was only a brief stop for me on the long route to the coast via San Isidro General. Manuel Antionio was my actual destination as well as one of my favoriite beaches. Dominical seemed pretty virgin to me. At the time, there was still r.e. available in the more desirable north pacific. I've learned the roads have gotten better and the area south of Quepos is now in play with grino schemers.

So I was hanging out with a unch of Saudis last night was was talkingto them about this. Once they all stopped saying "Saudi?! Are you kidding?!" they gave me a litlte insight....
SA has free health care for everyone. There are no tazes and roads and infrastructure are all meticulously maintained. If you can't afford stuff, the government pays for it so there isn't much poverty.
Yes, this is all becuase of oil. And not much mention of human rights issues. BUT you put all that stuff out there and you think, yeah, not bad. And tit's warm\.

Acapulco is a lot like California and Las Vegas. Local streets just like in Cali and they speak Spanish like cholos in LA. So frankly you should visit southern Mexico.

I know one HUGE deterrent for me to move to Saudi Arabia is the heat. I would love a place with some snow so I don't have to make the road trips to experience it.

Where are you making a road trip to snow from Saudi?

A lot of the spots on this list or beautiful or have certain attractions, but I would disagree that quality of life would compare to that of Miami in most of these places at least in my opinion.

It's a pretty relative question. The main example would be me preferring to live in CFL over Miami.
At my stage in life, Miami it doesn't tickle me. I've seen this sh1t played out before.
As for Costa Rica...perhaps in a future stage.

Costa Rica would be my live off the grid live in like a giant tree house plan. Like the movie Swiss Family Robinson.

The hotel is called Costa Verde. It's actually the only hotel that's actually on the beach at Manual Antonio. Till this day, still my favorite beach down there.... but I have yet to hit Corcovado further south
Wonder if Gus ever made it down to M.Antonio ? Know for sure he has surfed in Jaco, two hours N.

I saw a picture once of what appeared to be a small house in the middle of the ocean with a boat attached to it. It actually opened up into a large underwater home with plexi-glass walls the thing was incredible. I think that would beat any form of tree house.

Ya. It's in the CR'S Central Pacific coast - my preference. The N. Pacific is more arid, popular and with better resorts.
For such a small country, it has the most variety of habitats and 20% of the world's flora and fuana.
Having been to the Amazon, what you miss seeing there, you can easily spot in CR.
Talking about living amongst the trees, those zip-lines for tourist purposes were pionered in CR.
