OMG! Jersey Shores Confirmed

In her Miami Herald Blog, Scene in the Tropics, Lesley Abravanel, confirms the second season will be filmed here. Activities start in two weeks and filming thereafter per Ms Abravanel. She also reported a casting call for the Kardashians today, prior to commencement of filming.

The casting call for Kardashians is 100%. The last 2 days there has been huge lines outside Dash. I figured they were making an appearance, now it seems it must be that.

If it is reality TV, why do they need to do casting calls?

I was planning on going to DASH one day and noticed about 10 peoplle in a line and security. I asked the security guy if the store was open and he said yes and no- they were filming for the show. If I waited in line I could fill out a release form and then could go in but they had the right to film and use the film for their show. It would've been fun if I were with a friend, but I decided to go to another store instead.

That store is so tiny anyway, how they fit anyone else in around those 3 girls plus the camera crew is beyond me?!

The scarier part is that Jersey Shore will be filming in Miami. They'll be a good fit for a few of the clubs..LIV comes to mind!

Which one of the Kardashian sisters is going to be living in Miami running the store? Or is it going to be like Miami Ink - filmed in Miami but the cast and crew only come for filming?

Dunno about the store, but rumors say they live at the Apogee when in town filming. I believe Ms. Abravanel reported that both sister were in (please see her blog @ miamiherald.com - scene in the tropics---I believe it was posted yesterday)

Dash is on 8th and Washington next to Diesel. But none of them live here. It's weird that they are coming back. It was the 2 crazier sisters, but now one is a mom and one is married and they've settled down. So why they are coming back to do SoBe again is beyond me.

Dash is kinda microscopic, so it's easy to miss. We walked in once accidentally. Took me a second to realize where I was.

I think Jersey Shore is coming to Miami because they can do the same things but much better- better clubs and a perfect beach, year round. Plus they all think they're so cool that maybe they've outgrown the Jersey Shore. The Jersey Shore is only busy during the summer. In Miami they can be trashy year round.

I agree Coach, it IS a great place to live! I just meant the last series was all about them doing the Miami stereotypical lifestyle...they went out, partied, kissed other girls, threw up everywhere after drunken nights out...the usual. So to come back now as married gals is a bit weird.

I have a few dumb questions...... Who is Kardashian? What is her tie-in to the morons from that Jersey Shore show? I saw part of one episode of Jersey Shore. Are those people for real, or is it a put on? It was unreal. Never watched it again.

Kardasian was a very succesful lawyer inh LA. He formeod part of OJ's defense team when he beat the wrap. After his death, his daugthers, particularly the older one, became a fabrication of our senseless culture of reality garbage.
I was forced to watch an episode , as my neice had control of the remote for part of that evening during a recent vacation. The popularity of that show almost convinces me that this country is doomed. That show is as real as Bruce Jenner's ( step dad ) new face.

I take it from this comment that the Kardashians are on the grocery store tabloids. I don't pay much attention to those. I do now recall the name Kardashian from the O.J. trial. I didn't know that lawyer had died. I guess he joined his dead lying teammate, Johnny Cochran. So, the daughter of a once famous lawyer beomes famous for some reason. I still don't get the Jersey Shore connection, but those "reality shows" have little to do with reality.

Oh, because of our schedules. I (Glenn) actually do most of the shopping and most of the cooking. I still try to avoid the tabloids.

They are a reality TV joke, however... they are the only reality show I like to watch as there are 6 siblings in that family and they are genuinely close to each other. That's the reason I watch. They are a good family. And Khloe is a scream

Kim Kardashian used to be Paris Hilton's "BFF" and was seen all over LA etc; with her. Kim is a bombshell beauty who piggy backed on the nonsense of Paris Hilton's fame. Producers jumped on this of course as Kim moved on to join the league of incredibly vapid mass media phenomenons.

Miami Beach has always had star appeal though so none of this surprises me. But ten years from now we'll be remembering this as much as a particular grain of sand. None of the shows really represent the real Miami Beach and all the "real" people who live and work there. Jersey Shore is an embarrassment.

PS ... the reason I know about Kim is because I used to write for a photo agency based in Miami beach. Typically I take no interest in the lives of D list celebrities.

The only connection between the Jersey Shore and the Kardashians is that they will now both be filming in Miami. I like watching the Kardashians..it's funny. I've never seen an episode of the Jersey Shore, but I guess I shoul see what all the hype is about. I really don't understand why it's so popular..I guess it's like watching a freakshow/trainwreck, where you can't look away...
